The Window Socket offers a neat way to harness solar energy and use it as a plug socket. So far we have seen solutions that act as a solar battery backup, but none as a direct plug-in. Simple in design, the plug just attaches to any window and does its job intuitively.
Yeah, I'm finally catching up on Breaking Bad NSFW
What's really fascinates me about this series is how good Jesse is as a person and how he's being 'drugged' into the criminal world and doing things he morally doesn't want to do, but is forced to because everyone around him doesn't understands him - his parents kick him out of the house, his "friends" desert him, Walt demands that he 'takes care of it"...
I would say the same about Walt, but he seems to enjoy his Mobster power up to the point his wife leaves him...
I'm now at Season 3 - so don't mess it up for me ya'll!
Did you see his last post where he proudly claims that (and I quote): Two years ago Google+ started up. My friends said it was gonna be a failure. I told them I was giving up my blog to post, instead, on Google+. Of course I told everyone this on Twitter and Facebook and everywhere else I've posted. (http://goo.gl/jsJKD)
How quickly we forget, my dear Robert.
Back in Nov 25, 2011 Scoble wrote a Public post he named: Has Google lost the business social war? And for the first time in my life I went all Israeli on someone:
"Wow +Robert Scoble I really didn't think you were that short sighted! Really. Was I giving you more credit than you ever deserved? Are you writing BS only to get reaction from people and get the sense that your followers are engaging with you?
I know you've seen the charts showing the speed of growth of Google vs the other social media sites, but that's really not the point. If you understood anything about G+ you'd stop comparing it to Facebook and twitter because (for the million and one time) G+ IS NOT ANOTHER SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE!!! It's a SOCIAL PLATFORM. Do you get it?? Geez."
Of course, Scoble is not one to let that slide, and he replied:
Robert Scoble Nov 26, 2011 (edited)+2
+Yifat Cohen a social platform? Oh, do tell. Does Google+ suggest really good people to me? No. Facebook does. Does Google+ know anything about the places I'm checking in? No. Foursquare does. Does Google+ have really great noise controls? No. Facebook does. Does Google+ have great restaurant and other business reviews? No. Yelp does. Does Google+ have the best news in the business? No. Twitter does. Does Google+ have anything that makes it special over any other system? Yes, Video hangouts, search, and Ripples. Is that enough to say it's a social platform. Absolutely not.
The attached image is a screenshot of my reply to him. I've been waiting for him to admit he was wrong since then. Instead, today, as Google+ turns 2, he declairs to the world that he and +Mike Elgan always saw eye to eye when it came to Google+.
You can now thank the person who gave you a +1 in Google Search results!
Disregard the annoying dog, but watch this and you'll finally get why #googleplus is a big thing. Watch it and you'll get why GooglePlus is NOT another social media site (you're following me +Robert Scoble?) but an integrated platform.
Watch and share it on other networks, so that they get it too.
Even though Da Vinci has been dead for hundreds of years, he's still inspiring engineers today.
A 75-year-old Gennai Yanagisawa invented the smallest one-man helicopter - available for self assembly (30-40 hours) through their web site: http://bit.ly/A3UH0D
The helicopter has two identical rotors that turn in opposite directions making the need for a tail rotor obsolete. Each rotor counteracts the others torque keeping the helicopter free of any unwanted spin. It has four twin cylinder engines and can remain in the air even if two of the engines of malfunction. However, they have attached a parachute above the mast just in case...
EVEN AFTER YESTERDAY'S KEYNOTES, THE MEDIA STILL DOESN'T GET IT. Google+ is not a social network.
If you watched yesterday's keynotes from Google I/O you're probably as amazed as I am at all the new features Google added to ALL its products and how well they're integrated with Google+.
I can count the ways Google is about to change our daily lives (in a positive way) with each of its updates (From Google Now, to Wallet, to Hangouts, to Maps...) so why does the media continues to compare it to Facebook??
+TIME just released an article calling Google+ "the most attractive and engaging web apps" (really, so it's a web app now?!?) and finishing with -
My friends, family and acquaintances are all on Facebook, where they add up to a bustling community I enjoy being part of. More than any particular feature that Mark Zuckerberg and company have cooked up, it’s the people in my life that make Facebook, well, Facebook. Therein lies Google+’s great challenge. Even if it’s good — even if it’s great — it’s not going to displace Facebook as the world’s primary social network. And most people don’t need a second social network. (Or at least a Facebook-like social network: Twitter, Pinterest and others that don’t take Facebook on directly can and do thrive.)
So what needs to happen, dear +Harry McCracken for you and your peers to get it - Google+ is not another social media web site, or web app, or a stand alone whatever-you-want-to-call-it.
It's not competing with Facebook, Twitter or even Skype or GotoMeeting. It's Google! It's the internet. It's where people go to Search, connect and FIND what they're looking for. And it's integrated with a word-of-mouth-social-layer called Google+.
Google's Shared Endorsement has rolled out - check your notifications. How to disable this - scroll all the way down this post
As +Mike Elgan pointed out today, these seem very similar to what Facebook has been doing, but they're very different.
Here's what you need to know:
You're in control: Your content is only shared when you choose, and shared endorsements don't impact who can see your content or activity.
To help your friends and others find cool stuff online, your activity (such as reviews, +1s, follows, shares, etc.) may be used along with your name and photo in commercial or other promotional contexts.
When it comes to shared endorsements in ads, you can choose whether your name and photo may be used to help your friends find stuff you love (and avoid stuff you don't) — you can control this with the setting at the bottom of this page.
The name and photo shown in shared endorsements are the public profile name and photo you have chosen on Google+.

It's almost my birthday and I want to give back - every day at 11am CST
In 2 days, on Valentine day, I will be 21 again, and I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out how I can share the love with the people who make my Google+ experience so addictive (I'm talking about you).
After a few conversations, I realized that what I love about this space the most is the people in it, and I've decided to share them with you.
Not in a shared circle, but in a daily post highlighting each person and what they bring to the table so that you know what to expect when you circle them.
These people are the hidden gems of Google+ and I'm going to expose them so that more people can have some of the great experience I'm having.
I've passed the 40,000 followers this weekend and I am SO grateful for all of you! Your engagement with me means the world to me and I want to thank YOU for opening your heart to me, sharing your thoughts, your laughter and your time with me.
Thank you SO much for joining my Hangouts and allowing me to share my passions with you.
Now it's time for me to give back and teach you! For all 40,000 of you, and only for YOU [not open to the public], I will host a 2 part Thank You Hangout, where +Alex Mandossian will grill me on How I got 33,000 followers so you can do the same.
The second Hangout will be a Q&A Hangout, where You drill me on any action step that wasn't clear.
HOW TO JOIN THESE HANGOUTS? I'll share a special link in a few where you can RSVP and participate.
Once again - Thank you SO much for having me in your circles. YOU rock!
PROGRAMMERS NEEDED - PYTHON AND DJANGO My client is hiring.
I'm building a circle for #python and #django programmers to share job opportunities with. If you or someone you know can program and wants a job - please add yourself in the comments and I'll add you to a circle to share jobs and information with.
Have you ever wondered what does it take to create a product from scratch - the studio, the settings, the filming, the editing...How do you go about presenting to the camera, what do you need to have ready before you get started... all the little details..
Want to see it done right? A well known Santa Monica based company hired me to teach their community of almost 4 million people on my favorite topics: 1 Day on Google+ & 1 Day on Hangouts. The courses will be added to their private education site and to my upcoming membership site (stay tuned on that one - it's going to be the bomb!)
Turns out the word got out and a few of you have started sending me private messages asking how to get access to the training, and even back stage passes to the live recording... It's really not part of the plan yet, but you know how I love hangouts and it'll be FUN to bring you into the studio and share the experience with you - Just thinking of all the production value you're going to learn just from watching a professional company doing what it does best- product creation.
What does Howard Stern have to do with it? I'll be talking Google+ and Hangouts on a radio station in Los Angeles (Watch out Howard Stern! :) on the second week of Dec. right before the studio recording, and you just know I want to bring you there as well!
Are you coming? Let me know in the comments so I'll add you to the Media Circle for these events.
What's coming to Unscripted Hangouts Let me know if you want to be added to the circle and be invited to sit in the Hangout
The month of Dec. is bringing some amazing guests to Unscripted Hangouts and you can talk to them face to face if you're early enough to get into the Hangout (they fill out about 15 min. before we start - first come first serve)
Each show takes place on Thur. at 9am PST, 11am CSt, noon EST with a simple format - first 30 minutes is a guest interview by yours truly, and the other 30 min. is unscripted conversation between you and my guest. You can ask them anything you want to (as long as you're not rude) and get specific answers to your questions, improve your business and your life.
WANT TO GET INVITED? I'm building a new Unscripted Hangout circle. Let me know you're interested and I'll add you to it, so you never miss a Hangout and a guest again.
A FEW RULES If you're in the Hangout - you must participate and engage. Other wise, please leave room to those who do. This means that your camera and mic need to be working, and you have something to add to the conversation.
Not sure you want to do that, but still want to be a part of it - no problem. You can engage as a viewer too - Simply comment and I'll communicate your questions to my guest.
Didn't make it in, but want to? You still can! Simply comment with your questions and engage with the conversation from the outside, and I might send you a special invite to join us in the Hangout.
Know anyone who'd like the opportunity of sitting in the Hangout as well? Be a great friend and share this with them. I know they'll thank you for it :)
FINDING THE CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER TO YOU Your Google+ experience is dictated by who YOU follow and who's in YOUR circles. How do you know who to follow and what conversations are taking place around your niche?
You could try searching for them in Google+ Search, but the results you get are based on what Google already knows about you... You could search for hashtags, and get completely lost in the stream OR you could use +NOD3x.
NOD3x is the brain child of +Lee Smallwood and it allows you to find the people who are talking about your topic and join the conversation right from there.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TAKE THE NOD3x30 OUTREACHH CHALLENGE The NOD3x30 Outreach Challenge is a 30 days challenge to finding 30 new people to follow. One person said they got a $50,000 contract from the 30 day challenge, another has said that they are now positioned as an influencer amongst a specific niche for a page!
THIS HANGOUT WILL GET YOU STARTED RIGHT We'll cover - How to find people to follow, Analyzing different types of engagement, Analyzing your personal Google+ network Focusing your Google+ Activity and using NOD3x as a brand page

Gmail users can just add money to an e-mail as an attachment, just like they would add a photo or document, and send any amount to family and friends for a flat fee of 2.9 percent per transaction, for a minimum of 30 cents.
For some reason, I don't see the option in my Gmail yet. Do you?
Finally Israel is in the news for something pretty - Gal Gadot who will be playing Wonder Woman in the new Batman vs. Superman movie. And unlike other Israeli "super stars" she has served in the Army (makes me proud :)

What are the key factors that help web pages rank well in Google searches?
Not surprising (to us) is that Social Media is more important for SEO now than ever before.
Even though this article only shows Facebook shares, I think their conclusions are still valid.
The five key findings of the study are: 1. Social media has arrived in search 2. Top brands appear to have a ranking advantage 3. Too much advertising is a handicap 4. Quantity of links is still important but quality is vital 5. Keyword domains still frequently attract top results

It's on a first come first serve basis - but I take your questions in the comments.
For me, it's the inner voice which whispers so gently... 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' It's been years of battling with this persistent inner voice, and finally I feel like I'm beginning to win the war.
Quotes like this one from John Greenleaf Whittier, Maud Muller - Pamphlet “Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.” are my own inner ammunition.
What's stopping You? What do you use to win your own internal battles?

+Gary Vaynerchuk sums up what I've been trying to preach since I fell in love with this platform - It's not about the number of followers, it's only about the relationship.
I call it leveraging your social networks and I spoke about it in the Fireside hangout with +Larry Fournillier 2 weeks ago - create the best relationship with 10-15 people who will talk about you to and with their network and their top 10-15 people will continue talking about you to their network, and so on.
The quality of your relationship will do the talking for you.

"Klyuchevskaya Sopka (Russian: Ключевская сопка; also known as Kliuchevskoi, Russian: Ключевской) is a stratovolcano, the highest mountain on the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia and the highest active volcano of Eurasia. Its steep, symmetrical cone towers about 100 kilometres (60 mi) from the Bering Sea. The volcano is part of the natural Volcanoes of Kamchatka UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Klyuchevskaya's first recorded eruption occurred in 1697, and it has been almost continuously active ever since, as have many of its neighboring volcanoes.
It was first climbed in 1788 by Daniel Gauss and two other members of the Billings Expedition. No other ascents were recorded until 1931, when several climbers were killed by flying lava on the descent. As similar dangers still exist today, few ascents are made."

HOW ONE MOM’S BLOG BECAME THE BIGGEST NETWORK IN THE UK.
+Sally Whittle was a tech journalist contributing stories to ZDNet, Computing, Computer Weekly, Information Age, Mac User and the Guardian.
When her daughter turned 2 she started a parenting blog at Who's the Mummy, (ranked the UK's #1 parenting blog by Cision.) As comments started to come in, she realized there are other women bloggers out there but there was no way to find them, or know who the influences are.
So she created +Tots100 *a directory of 2,500 parent blogs that is fully updated every month, and allows brands to search, identify and contact the UK's most popular and influential bloggers.*
