The Window Socket offers a neat way to harness solar energy and use it as a plug socket. So far we have seen solutions that act as a solar battery backup, but none as a direct plug-in. Simple in design, the plug just attaches to any window and does its job intuitively.
This started as a simple picture in Facebook by an Israeli designer who wanted to let Iranians know he has nothing but love for them. It turned into a movement that was featured on CNN, Aljazira, and all the way to China. People from Iran reached out to Israelis via pictures and text, expressing their detest with their government's propaganda, wishing they could visit each other soon. They started meeting in real life in Israel and in Europe. People who grew up hating Israel because of what they were told, flew to Israel to meet with Israelis and discovered they have a lot in common.

EVEN AFTER YESTERDAY'S KEYNOTES, THE MEDIA STILL DOESN'T GET IT. Google+ is not a social network.
If you watched yesterday's keynotes from Google I/O you're probably as amazed as I am at all the new features Google added to ALL its products and how well they're integrated with Google+.
I can count the ways Google is about to change our daily lives (in a positive way) with each of its updates (From Google Now, to Wallet, to Hangouts, to Maps...) so why does the media continues to compare it to Facebook??
+TIME just released an article calling Google+ "the most attractive and engaging web apps" (really, so it's a web app now?!?) and finishing with -
My friends, family and acquaintances are all on Facebook, where they add up to a bustling community I enjoy being part of. More than any particular feature that Mark Zuckerberg and company have cooked up, it’s the people in my life that make Facebook, well, Facebook. Therein lies Google+’s great challenge. Even if it’s good — even if it’s great — it’s not going to displace Facebook as the world’s primary social network. And most people don’t need a second social network. (Or at least a Facebook-like social network: Twitter, Pinterest and others that don’t take Facebook on directly can and do thrive.)
So what needs to happen, dear +Harry McCracken for you and your peers to get it - Google+ is not another social media web site, or web app, or a stand alone whatever-you-want-to-call-it.
It's not competing with Facebook, Twitter or even Skype or GotoMeeting. It's Google! It's the internet. It's where people go to Search, connect and FIND what they're looking for. And it's integrated with a word-of-mouth-social-layer called Google+.
Ever wondered which social media avenue will bring you the most return on investment (ROI)? ------------------------------------- PLUS+TALKS THIS TUES. AT 3PM CENTRAL / 4PM EASTERN ---------------------------------------
+Doc Harvard did too. And so he tested it and has the proof that if you're reading this you're in the right place. Join us this Tue. as we present you with the testing, the results and the conclusion.

Send money from Gmail - even if THEY don't have a Gmail address. With over 5 million downloads, will Wallet replace PayPal?
Gmail users can just add money to an e-mail as an attachment, just like they would add a photo or document, and send any amount to family and friends for a flat fee of 2.9 percent per transaction, for a minimum of 30 cents.
For some reason, I don't see the option in my Gmail yet. Do you?
Google's personal assistant for its Android Jelly Bean mobile operating system is coming to the Internet search leader's Chrome browser.
By hooking Google Now into its Chrome browser, the service has the potential to become a cross-platform offering, since Google makes versions of the browser for Windows, MacOS X and Apple iOS operating systems. That contrasts with Apple's personal digital assistant Siri, which only works on some Apple devices.

"Klyuchevskaya Sopka (Russian: Ключевская сопка; also known as Kliuchevskoi, Russian: Ключевской) is a stratovolcano, the highest mountain on the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia and the highest active volcano of Eurasia. Its steep, symmetrical cone towers about 100 kilometres (60 mi) from the Bering Sea. The volcano is part of the natural Volcanoes of Kamchatka UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Klyuchevskaya's first recorded eruption occurred in 1697,[1] and it has been almost continuously active ever since, as have many of its neighboring volcanoes.
It was first climbed in 1788 by Daniel Gauss and two other members of the Billings Expedition. No other ascents were recorded until 1931, when several climbers were killed by flying lava on the descent. As similar dangers still exist today, few ascents are made."

There have been many conversations lately about the Ghost Town syndrome .the "rich getting richer", etc. There have also been many posts engagement..but how do you engage?
Reshared text: So your stream is a ghost town? Here's how to bring it back to life.
Many people have been struggling with breathing life into their stream. Being misled by the media to think that Google+ is just another social media web site, they arrive here misinformed and get frustrated with the lack of engagement.
In this video +Yifat Cohen, the G+GoTo Gal, shares 3 ways to search for people who share your passion How to search using hashtags How to search for professions How to engage.
Finally, how you get someone to notice and love you right away.
I hope you enjoy it, but more than that, I hope you do something with it.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS TITLE - "Google+ beats Twitter to become the second largest social network"?
Once again, Google+ is not just another social network. It's a social layer on top of all of Google's services, and as Google itself says it - Google+ is the new Google.
So why does the media continue to compare and confuse?
Over half a billion dollar in profits and still people are getting laid off.
How impressed were you with "The Life of Pi"'s special effects? Well, as you know, you're not alone. The special effect were so good, they won a few Oscars and went bankrupt that same night.
If the special effects made the movie what it is, why is it that Rhythm & Hues (the company who created the virtual effects (VFX)) have to lay off employees and file for bankruptcy?
Many internet users have changed their profile picture to Green in protest, but I really wonder what can be done so that production companies stop screwing up their providers.
HOW ONE MOM’S BLOG BECAME THE BIGGEST NETWORK IN THE UK.
+Sally Whittle was a tech journalist contributing stories to ZDNet, Computing, Computer Weekly, Information Age, Mac User and the Guardian.
When her daughter turned 2 she started a parenting blog at Who's the Mummy, (ranked the UK's #1 parenting blog by Cision.) As comments started to come in, she realized there are other women bloggers out there but there was no way to find them, or know who the influences are.
So she created +Tots100 *a directory of 2,500 parent blogs that is fully updated every month, and allows brands to search, identify and contact the UK's most popular and influential bloggers.*
WHAT CAN YOU GET FROM A SUCCESSFUL BLOG? How about an invitation to go and tour the sets of Harry Potter at Warner Bros Studios Paid trips and accommodation like the one Sally got to the South of France.. Free products to review and of course - a nice income.
SO HOW DO YOU GET YOUR BLOG TO THAT POINT? Join us this Thur. and ask Sally directly.
In this season of giving - give a cuddle. (and share)
Sometimes the best way to feel you matter is to make someone else matter.
When my little one was sick and kept falling asleep in my arms, I started thinking of how secure and safe he must feel - to fall asleep at the Doc. office, at Jiffy Lube, in line at the bank, because one thing stayed constant: his mother's arms. And then I started to think of sick children who don't have these arms to fall asleep in, who don't have care givers who care, who were left and never picked up. My heart sunk and I held my baby just a bit closer, breathing him in as my mind drifted off in thought.
Then a friend told me about a baby cuddling program where volunteers come in and simply cuddle babies. The program is now in place at most children's hospitals. To get started, simply use the American Hospital Directory (http://www.ahd.com/freesearch.php3) to call the hospital or long-term childcare facility nearest to you. Just ask to speak with a volunteer coordinator.
You can make an immense difference in a baby's life just by holding them close for a little while.

I've been asked many times how to use Hangouts to build a list, how to show them in private just for my members, or basically - how to do what some currently do with GotoMeeting without the extensive price tag.
Here's a WordPress plugin that allows you to do all that, and then some. And super easy to use and simplifies the entire process.
What's left now is just creating high value webinars hangouts that people want to attend. :)
Reshared text: Communities has had a visual refresh to coincide with the Google+ redesign last week, but has also added a few minor changes to the layout too.
When I got home that night, as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said “I’ve got something to tell you.” She sat down and ate quietly. I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth, but I had to let her know what I was thinking.
“I want a divorce.” I raised the topic calmly.
She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, “Why?”
I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, “You are not a man!”
That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; I had lost my heart to Jane. I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her! With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane. When I woke up, she was still at the table writing. I just did not care, so I turned over and was asleep again. In the morning, she presented her divorce conditions: she didn’t want anything from me, but needed a month’s notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month’s time and she didn’t want to disrupt him with our broken marriage. This was agreeable to me.
But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into our bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that every day for the month’s duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door every morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable, I accepted her odd request.
I told Jane about my wife’s divorce conditions. She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. “No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce,” she said scornfully. My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, “Daddy is holding Mommy in his arms.” His words brought me a sense of pain.
From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly, “Don’t tell our son about the divorce.” I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office. On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse.
I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her. On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn’t tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by.
Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger. She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, “All my dresses have grown bigger.” I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily. Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart.
Subconsciously, I reached out and touched her head. Our son came in at the moment and said, “Dad, it’s time to carry mom out.” To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day. But her much lighter weight made me sad.
On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, “I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy.” I drove to office, jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind. I walked upstairs.
Jane opened the door and I said to her, “Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.”
She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. “Do you have a fever?” she said.
I moved her hand off my head. “Sorry, Jane, I said, I won’t divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we didn’t love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us part.”
Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away. At the florist shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, “I’ll carry you out every morning until death do us part.”
That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I ran up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed--dead. My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was too busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from whatever negative reaction it would have on our son, in case we pushed through with the divorce. At least—in the eyes of our son—I’m a loving husband….
THE SMALL DETAILS OF YOUR LIVES ARE WHAT REALLY MATTER IN A RELATIONSHIP. IT'S NOT the mansion or house, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage! Most of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up... YOU DONT REALIZE WHAT YOU HAVE UNTIL IT’S GONE!
This was shared as a post on Facebook and I received it in an email. I don't know who wrote it, but I knew more people needed to read and internalize it
RESHARE: FOUR NEW FEATURES TO GOOGLE+ HANGOUTS ON AIR.

Four new features to Google+ Hangouts On Air: ☆ You can now enjoy immediate starting, ☆ Broadcast rewinding, ☆ Higher quality videos on mobile, ☆ Recordings are now instantly available on YouTube.
So why the Preparing Broadcast? It may take longer to set up your Hangout On Air, Google admits. The “Start broadcasting” button may be grayed out for longer before it turns red and you can start.

I doubt it. Both Google and we keep changing, so what's perfect today might not work tomorrow. Still, this is a great infographic to make sure your profile is complete, even if it's not always perfect. :)
LOCAL BUSINESS PAY ATTENTION TO GOOGLE MAPS Reviews are now more important than ever.
New Google Maps interface leaks ahead of Google I/O conference.
If this move doesn't demonstrate that Google+ is not another social networking site and that it should no longer be compared to Facebook or Twitter, I don’t know what else to say.
How's your G+ activity / engagement graph looking today?
1. Got to http://nod3x.com 2. Type your name or your Google+ ID if you have weird characters like I do... :-) 3. Click profile search 4. Take a screen grab of the graph 5. Upload and tag +NOD3x in the image :) 6. Done
Note: You don't have to publicly publish your graphs just put +NOD3x as the recipient.
MEDICINE IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE. NOR IS 3D. An airway created with a 3D printer saved this baby's life
This is why I believe people become doctors. Stories like this one. But here's the amazing part: The image-based design and 3-D biomaterial printing process we used for Kaiba can be adapted to build and reconstruct a number of tissue structures. We’ve used the process to build and test patient-specific ear and nose structures. Scott has also used the method with other collaborators to rebuild bone structures in pre-clinical models.
So can you see a future where a doctor designs your face on their computer, prints the required parts and you come out looking exactly like that picture in the magazine? Scary!

RESHARE: Here's how to remember who you met on Google+ and how - add a personal note to their profile
This feature is only visible to you, so you can write anything you'd like (kinda like the circles you put them in). Another cool feature is that it's integrated with Gmail - so anything you add to a person's profile also shows up in your Gmail contacts.
So no more wondering "where do I know that person from..?!?" :)
Reshared text: Oooooohhh... A new wee nifty feature has been released on the main Google+ site (not mobile) where you can add your own private contact details to view personally on other people's About sections for your reference later.
So you can save things like a nickname, email address and birthday..
And if you click on the Show all fields, you can see sections to even phonetically store the first and last names if you put them in. (I can understand... with a name like Dolidh... A lot of people just default to 'Miss Young')
I can see the benefits, although I'd like to see how I can utilise some of the fields (ie. In the extended list, there's an option for 'Add a name used for sorting')
So pop along to my about page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you can try it out yourself. ^_^
But there might be a great strategy to be developed behind them... The one that I first thought of was - the Hangout echo: how long does the conversation last after the video Hangout has ended...
Another one is how to bring the conversation into your community, and continue it there...

Who said you can't have a healthy AND tasty birthday party?
My sister, +Noa Simmons did it again - first birthday for her baby boy, and everything (yes, even the cake) is healthy. The kids love it! (and my waistline too :)
Reshared text: It's a newborn, still in the sac. It's was an amazing opportunity to see something so rare. Like a glimpse of what it's like "on the inside". Hope you all appreciate it as much a s I do. I can't believe how squished up they are, inside of it! Amazing!
Giving birth with the amniotic sac intact is called a "veiled birth." It is very rare but it is possible. It is less painful because the water cushions the baby's head, meaning less bruising for both of you. Don't worry about the baby drowning, he or she will not take a first breath until he/she hits the air for the first time, and the placenta will continue to provide oxygen until that happens... thanks lynn Gomez

I was very disappointed to find out that +Tony Robbins's account is run by his PR team and so I'm not following him any more. Why? Because there's a difference in expectations when I'm following +Cadbury UK or +Mashable and when I'm following Tony. If Tony didn't have a personal account and instead had only a company account like +Team Coco (Conan O'brien's company) then I'd know not to expect Tony there. But having a personal account and outsourcing the interaction is basically being real good at being fake.
Reshared text: Should Famous People Do Their Own Social Media?
Recently it was revealed that +George Takei does not do all his social media, but in fact has a team of people creating content and sharing things out for him.
I know many many many(most?) social media "big names" do the same thing. They hire an intern or an assistant that does all the posting for them... and except very rarely, they personally would hardly know they have an account on the platform.
I partly understand why. The backlash you get as a 'popular poster' can sometimes be as depressing as reading tabloids about yourself and often show the worst parts of humanity....
But I personally still read it all. All the comments, all the mentions, all @ replied on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+. I still find posts to create, add my own thoughts and share them on multiple platforms every day. I still plus one comments that people take the time to write, hangout publicly, Retweet others and follow back any person who makes any kind of effort. It doesn't take as long as you would think it would.... Some others do too... +Chris Pirillo , +Robert Scoble , and +Mike Elgan are some names that come to mind that still "take the time" even with huge audiences.
I really do think its sad that so many 'famous people' hire teams of people and still somehow can't mention names directly, interact with you directly anywhere or follow you back on say Twitter. What are these teams doing all day long? If you are famous and you don't have the time, get your PR teams to at least PRETEND to interact as you with say... an odd facebook like eh?
What do you think? Do you care if the "famous person" is really there or its just an intern / PR person? :)
