Sharing a circle can cause hurt feelings if you are left out... I am not doing so with malicious intent involved... but by acting out, threatening me or saying i "forgot you"... you are doing it very wrong.
I share circles to share some of the G+ Magic around. It is usually a great experience, except for a select few who feel wronged, jealous and excluded. Instead of mud-slinging why not share your OWN circle on a similar topic or some of the other suggestions in the post below?
Reshared text: To the photographers that weren't included in the circles I shared over the weekend
Please don't take this personally, It is simply impossible to circle or know every single photographer on G+. I would like to send an invitation to all photographers that also have such a circle to share them with the G+ community. Giving everyone a faire chance of expressing themselves and not feel like they are being left-out..We can't hide the fact that when we see that we have an audience..this becomes fuel for our creativity and pushes us to step in 2nd gear.... The feeling of being left out can be devastating for some and lets all do the best we can to make sure this doesn't happen.
One advice to those who might feel sad or depressed about the whole thing...please don't be..use this to push your art to the next level...do what you have to to get noticed, go the extra mile..Never Ever Give Up. I am sure there is plenty of incredible photographers out there that are not in my circle and that is not because I don't value your work, Far from that. It is simply because I never had to chance to view it, interact with you enough, simply forgot to add you to my circle or included you in the wrong one for some strange reason.
We have to remember that by seeking acceptance (and God knows we all do in some sort of shape or form) We loose touch with our true reality and we act only with one purpose in mind and that is to "Please Others" Being an artist means creating art the way YOU intend to create it, creating art that makes YOU feel alive, creating art the way YOU imagine it, No other ways... Not the way, books, other people, friends, family say it should be done. Do what pleases you most, do it well and people will see that in your art and recognize you for it.
Terribly sorry once again to those that weren't included..my goal was not to make people feel bad but to help you discover many incredible artist exactly the same way I did when +Thomas Hawk shared his big circle.

RESHARE: Craiglist sure has some creative funny people... This ad for a "holiday girlfriend" sure made me giggle. ♥
Are you single for the holidays?
Reshared text: My friend sent me this
Wanted on Craigslist: A girlfriend, but just for the holidays.
Let me be clear. I want a girlfriend. But, I don't really want a girlfriend.
I just want one for the holidays. Let's recognize something. The holidays suck, especially for us single people. All of your coupled friends are going to be doing couple things: snuggling by the fire, going to dinner at each others' parents houses, blahblahbarf. Let's recognize another thing. Deep down inside, you don't want to be alone for the holidays. You want someone to do all of those cute snuggly things with, someone to get fat and keep warm next to (let's also recognize that it's getting fucking cold here), and someone to accompany you to your friends' coupley holiday parties so they don't keep thinking you're a loser destined for permanent solo status. But, you've spent all year working on your career / training for charity bike rides / getting drunk and haven't had the time or inclination to track down and capture a boyfriend. And even if you did, you're not really sure you'd want to keep him after the holidays are over, anyway.
The solution: Be my girlfriend for the holidays. And only for the holidays. How it works: You reply with a picture and a brief bio (250 words max. To give you an idea, this posting is 499). If it seems like a good fit we'll set up a casual mini-date (coffee, beer, or whatever). If that's a success and we're both feeling it, we'll date until 11:59PM, January 2nd, 2012. After that we can still be friends (unless we hate each other, then we can downshift to the occasional drunken booty call).
The benefits: • You have someone to keep you company on these witch-tit-cold San Francisco nights. Did I mention I'm an excellent cuddler? (I have references.) • I like to cook. Especially for others. Nothing too fancy, but always tasty and satisfying. As long as you're an omnivore, you win. • Having done it professionally for some years to pay for school, I know my way around a bar. Same goes for wine cellars and beer coolers. Homemade winter warmers? Done. • Hate holiday music? Me too. Seeing as every other establishment or event you step into will be playing it, I'll spare you the excess. • Love taking photos? Sweet. Let's wear gaudy holiday attire and make ridiculous Xmas postcards to send your friends and family. Just for the lulz. • Worried about finding someone to kiss on New Year's Eve who doesn't look (or sound) like Sloth's cousin? Boom! Got you covered.
About Me: 28 years old, small business owner, active (cyclist, surfer, snowboarder), outgoing, easy on the eyes. Not About You (aka Dealbreakers or, Don't Bother if You Exhibit the Following): Heavy drug use, laziness, prudishness, still in love with old boy or girlfriend from years past (or if you secretly are, at least have the damn decency to not blab on about it).
Interested? Then send your pic and bio and get this ball rolling.

Since the weekend sometime I have noticed a HUGE increase in spam on my page. A quick scroll up and down the stream .. I see I am not the only one.
Most of it is links to advertising websites.. or even their brand pages here on plus....
I hope that Google will implement an option that if someone is NOT in my circles they will not be able to post a link in their comment... If this simple solution is made an option, much like the notification mentions, I think it would solve a lot of problems with the link spam.
Otherwise Google...I hope you have something up your sleeve... It sure is getting noisy around here.

I am thinking of heading to Europe... I've never been. I've traveled a lot in North American and the Caribbean though... Pretty much every major city. For some reason I find Europe more... intimidating. I can work anywhere there is internet so... I figure some travel might be in order.
I'm not enjoying the look of these "pre-packaged planned tours" which look like a mix between spring break for Europeans or the 60+ year old retired dining clubs. I also kinda like to do my own thing.

How does it work? 1) Create a wish list on your local amazon website (http://www.amazon.com or http://www.amazon.ca etc) All countries with amazon can participate! Remember to choose some cheaper options (less than $10 - shipping is extra!) 2) Make sure you set your shipping address on the wish list it will remain private except to amazon.(Read fine print though) 3) Share your list in a plus tagged with +Secret Santa and #gplussanta and on the +Secret Santa brand page! 4) Buy some gifts for some of your friends or even a random stranger or two here on plus 5) Get your wishlist stuff in the mail from others! ♥
Happy Holidays!
Are you participating? Post your list here! :D Id love to get some stuff for some of my followers :)
I think perhaps the point is that G+ is being used to interact with strangers in niche markets. If you find that magic.. you are still here.. if you don't you are not any longer. Most new people want to interact with their friends, see no value from 'strangers' beyond "I want to talk to that famous celebrity".... But sadly thats where it ends for most people. If you don't expereince the magic of a reshare or a comment on a topic you care about or so forth... you likely won't come back. Bradley post about the suggested user list.... about what it will take to be on that list.. has not been met I agree... and its a shame. If you haven't read this thread.... you should - https://plus.google.com/113116318008017777871/posts/LoPmpdCt3DT Then perhaps many can see why the suggested user list is well.. nothing at all like that post in the slightest.
Of course You want to follow celebs... but you will NOT stay here from just following Brittney's PR person. Promise. Especially when few of your friends are here. There needs to be a mix ... as originally suggested in the post introducing the suggested user list.(https://plus.google.com/113116318008017777871/posts/LoPmpdCt3DT here it is again) No need to take all the famous people off.. but having NOTHING but famous people is a mistake that I hope google will realize and fix..... cause I sure do love it here and know other new people will too. They just need to see the Google Magic.
Reshared text: The Suggested User List has Failed Must be balanced with community members to succeed
I have a concern to raise with you +Google+ and +Bradley Horowitz. That concern is that the people who are keeping your platform alive and well aren't receiving their due thanks from you. I love you both dearly. But. The Suggested User List has the wrong skew. I have no problem with you promoting celebrities. It's good marketing. I'm also by no means shouting at you "Suggest me!" But failing to balance your list with the users who are the lifeblood of your platform is a community fail.
Suggested Users Don't Exemplify the Google+ Experience "Follow Interesting and Famous People" You're met with these words when you look at the suggest user list and they appear to be mutually exclusive. I get the herd behavior marketing tactic by featuring famous people, but not only are they first people you see, they offer very little to the vitality of Google+ (with a few exceptions. read +Michelle Marie, +Tyra Banks' last hangout, that astronaut, and a few others). Instead of rewarding actual engagement, the list rewards fame but claims that there's not a "rich gets richer" affiliation inherent with it. I'm not surprised people don't use the platform when people like +Ricki Lake are the models to emulate but have only posted 3 times or +Ashley Tisdale uses Google+ as a second twitter. They fail to exhibit what makes Google+ different. Google+ has no added value when the actual community is forgotten.
The people who use your platform the most, engage at the highest levels, and even speak to Google on a regular basis who continually praise the platform, use all of the features, and show new guys around are left out in the cold despite being the members of the community most concerned with engaging and posting the best posts they can.
+Bradley Horowitz's Promises have not been Realized In order to be on the list Horowitz told us in early September that we need to "say something that engages people and inspires them to add you to a circle, read your posts and +1, comment and reshare them." But wait for it. It gets better. "Oh, and Hangout!" Mr. Horowitz. I'm sorry. But the list given to us poorly reflects this engagement that you say is a prerequisite to the list. So poorly in fact, that almost everyone on the list (minus very few) have previous affiliations suggesting that their worth comes not from their presence here, but their presence elsewhere. That whole Hangout thing? Well...
I can't think of anyone who hangs out more than people like +Amanda Blain, +Samantha Villenave, +Cam Meadows and +matthew rappaport. +Daria Musk has been your biggest advocate and has never been featured on the list despite giving talks around the nation about how amazing your platform is while people like +will.i.am don't post for weeks after promoting himself in a single Hangout. It's sad honestly.+Robert Scoble was right. The list is very poorly curated. The people I just mentioned have met all of your (public) criteria and yet are not recognized as the influential users they are. Which brings me to...
The Categories Don't Allow for Community Penetration News. Entertainment. Politics. Technology. These are all categories of the suggested user list. How, in any capacity, could users who aren't previously famous become part of their lists when journalists from CNBC are the standard? There's no category for Hangouters or Featured Community Members or Google+ Helpers, etc. Horowitz hinted that at some point the list would become personalized which is a step in the right direction and would allow for featuring community members more easily, but personalization doesn't necessarily promise that. For instance, if Google knows I like alternative music, there's not promise I'll get a +Daria Musk over a +Red Hot Chilli Pepper. That needs to change. Immediately.
Community members don't have to be featured in every category, but right now the "Suggest User List" should be renamed the "Verified Famous People On Google+ List" in its current incarnation. Put in a category a 25 community members you think do an awesome job and a few more for the most popular Hangouters. With more categories ((coughLGBTQcough)) comes more opportunity to add influential community members. What's wrong with that? Well. Maybe something...
Do we Really Want the Expectations? The scrutiny put on community members could end up hurting them more than helping them. If Google thinks they're awesome, they must be god-like! Or so the average new user would believe. This is dangerous and I can understand why Google has shied away from featuring the users more. They risk losing their humanity here when interaction becomes near impossible with 100,000+ followers and added pressure to not ruffle feathers. Is this what we want? Could not including influential community members actually be preserving their highly coveted status as opinion leaders?
Well. No. And here's why: I can't keep up with my 16,000 now. But to say that 16k people interact with me is ludicrous. Numbers aren't really a concern, but in-fighting could be. Regardless, this are two trade offs that should have been understood when it was implied that the average user who makes something of themselves using your platform would be an ideal fit for the Suggested User List. People drop in and out of the Suggested User List all the time. Who's to say that community members don't deserve that same chance? The list matters not for numbers' sake but for the validation from Google and the message to new users about what Google+ is all about. There are many worthy community members who care more about this platform than Celebrity X ever will.
I gave the list time to improve, time to iron out some kinks, before I called it out. But I'm sorry. The cake list is a lie. +Bradley Horowitz said that "we do want to make it easy for users to connect with the people they might find compelling. If they prove not to be, justice will be served, and all will be right in the world." It's my humble opinion that the most influential and engaging members of this community are left with very little "justice."
Am I out of line? Is there something I'm not seeing? Insight and opinions are welcome! Let's engage ;)

Here is my list of Social media folks and Public Relation people. Looking for advice on how to market your brand, yourself or just great helpful posts? These are the folks that have the stuff.
As always .. if you should be here just write me a quick note why.. Anyone left out... Sorry! Next round. Circle has been cleaned of inactive posters... Lots of these are not the 'typical suggestions'... Enjoy.
I see this everywhere.. Why do you have to click on some pictures and not others? ANSWER: The graphic must be less than 300px wide to appear animated in the stream
You will need to resize the gif in a program that retains the animation. Adobe Photoshop does this. No photoshop? Use an online tool. Something like http://www.online-image-editor.com/ works for free.
No more #clicky required.... but remember use sparingly or you are likely to annoy people unless its an awesome one... Like this here batman one.
What's this? Is it TRUE? G+ spam filters from other members!?
I noticed while browsing my comments that a comment was greyed out. Looks like i get a notification that it has been marked as spam and i can remove it.... because someone else marked it as spam. Much like a vote down feature on you tube.
*Start marking those spammy comments folks.. there is double the reason now!* Awesome step in the right direction to deal with spam.

*Want To See The Magic of Google Plus - Version 3*
New to Google Plus? Not quite sure you 'get it' yet? Follow these 3 simple steps. Try it. I Dare you. Anyone who actually does these things will love it here and can never say "it's dead".
1. *Get Followers* - Complete your profile. Put "what circles you should be placed in" in your about section. Think things like Photography, Geek, Tech, Art, Gaming, Wine Lover, Cat person. People probably have circles like this and can easily circle you back. Make it easy for people to circle you. Check out my profile for more ideas. Spend a few moments on this. Seriously. Make at LEAST 1 public post. Post daily in your 'interests' you picked for your profile. Make sure some is 'your own' not just reshares of others. Use pictures. G+ likes pictures.
2. *Follow Others* Circle this shared circle of 60 people up. They are Foodies, Travel, Tech, Art, Writing, Gaming and more. Many have less than 1000 people circling them. They are all engaging rockstars that will fill your stream with awesome content. Or go to the search bar and type in your interests. Game of thrones, Web development, wine, makeup, Michael Jackson. People here are fans and they are talking about it. Circle up at least 250 People. 1000 is still golden. These will likely all be strangers. Get over that. You do NOT need to know people in real life to talk about Iphones or Cooking, but you can have a great conversation. Don't expect to read the whole stream, it will be far too much. Make a circle of "engage with" as your first circle. Place people who's stuff you like in that circle. Visit THAT stream daily. Realize that people will share or +mention you to posts that you need to see. Accept this and remember to do this for others. Clean out and add people to this "Engage with" Circle often. Your personal preference on this section may vary... but this is a good place to start.
3. *Engage others* Go up and down your stream right now and Reshare neat things, comment, click the link, read the story, mention others who might like that post or comment on other peoples comments. +1s generally mean you read it and agree. Do that too. Try and make comments better than "lol" but engage other people in some way. Remember to mute the post if the conversation is not interesting to you anymore with the drop down arrow.
Rinse and Repeat steps 2 and 3 daily for best results. Google Plus is a truly amazing website if you follow these steps. Make it yours.
Share with your circles and new friends on G+ and comment your tips on making G+ magical.
As I continue my plans for a trip to Europe (and maybe a USA road trip) I came across this awesome map.
You can scratch off exactly where you have traveled to in the world. Show off on a nice classy looking wall map just how well traveled you are. What a neat idea. Get them here ---> http://goo.gl/ZHqxV

I have always had an issue with liquid eyeliner. It never works for me. I always end up looking like some crazy cross eye cat lady. If i somehow manage to get one eye done the other never works.
Do you wear liquid eyeliner? Tips tricks brands? You tube video that explained it all for you?
I dont know if you wear makeup or not... so if not.. just ignore this. :)
I just got another message here on plus THAT WAS TYPED IN ALL CAPS... I am not exactly sure when the all caps immediately translates into YELLING in my inside brain voice.. but i find few things more annoying online...

What are the questions, complaints or concerns you hear from real life friends as to why they will not leave facebook/twitter and come to G+? Or if they sign up.. why they don't 'come back'...
I'm having this discussion with a RL (real life) friend again right now .. :)
Want to clarify this is NOT about G+ is better than anything else... simply looking for reasons why people might want to give G+ a fair shot and what is stopping them...
A day to celebrate the greatness that is Felis Domesticus, or the common house-cat. Some people here on G+ post picture of cats or funny cat photos on Saturday... :)
I (with the help of several other ladies like +Laurie DesAutels ) am creating a makeup/hair/girl beauty tips etc circle... The circle will NOT be shared publicly .. The posts will be limited to the circle... You will be notified of these posts.

If you want in comment below... Opt-In Required :)
I've read this in a few places... saying some kinda information in 2012 but no release to 2013... Something to do with the fact xbox is currently the number one gaming console ... so why rush it ... even if the WII U is coming out?
RESHARE: Coolest thing i've seen in my stream today goes to +Geli Heimann and these two folks playing the glass harp!
What's a glass harp? A glass harp is an instrument made of upright wine glasses. It is played by running moistened or chalked fingers around the rim of the glasses. And it sure is impressive to watch.. :)
Reshared text: Totally incredible the synergy between these two people. I'm in awe again!!
