I seldom shoot these flowers because they are everywhere at this time of year, but last weekend I gave it a try when I saw the field full of them.
It was a national holiday yesterday. I enjoyed the spring flowers there with a camera in my hand.

The Last Minute of Cherry Blossoms
The cherry blossoms had passed their peak, but still I was able to enjoy the spring festive atmosphere along the Nakameguro River in Meguro, Tokyo. I joined +Drink and Click™ Tokyo's March event. The theme of the photo contest this month is "black and white photography" but I couldn't resist taking a photo of the blossoms in color :p Thanks for organizing the event, +holger feroudj. Thanks for introducing the delicious pizzas to us, +Giovanni Piliarvu :D

Heavy snow in Tokyo for the first time this winter! I took a walk in my neighborhood and took some photos. My neighborhood is not a busy place like Shinjuku or Shibuya, but here, you can hear the sound of the snow (or so I thought).

I joined +Trey Ratcliff's Tech Talk and Networking Event held at Google Japan Headquarters in Roppongi Hills. An interesting thing is that a lot of the attendees (including me) were enthusiastically taking photos of the view from the cafe space of Google's office during the networking event, almost forgetting about networking.

I love this spot along the river on my way home from work. Few people are around there, and the cherry blossoms are lit up beautifully by the lights from the adjacent athletic field. With this, I don't feel the need to visit the crowded cherry blossom viewing spots.
仕事からの帰り道、神田川と荒玉水道が交差するあたりに咲く桜。人はほとんどいない。横の運動場からの光が満開の花をきれいに照らしだす。一人静かに、夜桜が楽しめるお気に入りのスポット。

The Azalea Festival at Nezu Shrine 根津神社つつじ祭り
I visited Nezu Shrine in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo with +Mark Esguerra and a friend of mine from U.K. The Azalea Festival in its premises had just started and we enjoyed walking on the hill full of pink and white flowers.
友人たちと文京・根津神社を訪れた。ちょうどつつじ祭りが始まったばかりで（知らなかった！）、境内の丘を埋め尽くす白やピンクの花をのんびりと楽しむことができた。

前回、目黒の大円寺に五百羅漢と地蔵を見に行ったのは昨年の夏。草生い茂るなかで、小さい地蔵たちは草むらの中に隠れるようにしてたたずんでいた（その時の写真はこれ： http://bit.ly/11TzomS ）。そこでちゃんとお顔をしっかり拝もうと思い、１月初旬に改めて訪れた。改めて、悲しさを包み込む優しい笑顔が印象的だと思った。

330: 11/25/2012: Autumn Leaves in Otaguro Park, Suginami Tokyo
I visited one of my favorite parks to see the autumn leaves this morning. The park used to be a private garden which is now owned by Suginami Ward government and is open to public. A small river runs through the garden and you can enjoy beautiful autumn leaves every year.
今日の午前中、杉並区の大田黒公園に行ってきました。もとは個人の邸宅だった庭を杉並区が整備して一般公開している公園です。川が流れて池もある日本庭園があって、毎年、きれいな紅葉が楽しめ、私のお気に入りの場所の一つです。

This flower is called Yukiyanagi in Japanese, which means Snow Willow (The English name is Thunberg spirea). I love this flower so much, and every year, I was happy to see it bloom along the street near my home.

Bridge and the Tower
Daiba area of Tokyo had no shopping building when I was young. Still a lot of young couples visited there by their cars. The view of the central part of Tokyo from there was outstanding. So I was so unhappy when the Rainbow Bridge was completed. I thought it ruined the nighttime view of Tokyo (Of course there was no lights on the bridge at the time). So when I visited Daiba a couple of weeks ago, I captured this image to share the feeling I had when I was young with you. But once I saw the Rainbow Bridge this way, I realized that I kind of liked the details of its structure ...
台場はその昔、何もなかったけれどカップルのデートスポットとして人気だった。芝浦方面の夜景を見ながら、語らったり、見つめ合ったり、何かしたり、何かしたり…（あえて言わない）。だから、レインボーブリッジが完成したばかりのころ、そこからの風景を台無しにされた気がして、とても残念だった（ライトアップもされていなかった）。そしてこの前、台場を訪れたときに、当時、僕が味わった残念な気持ちを知ってもらえるのではと思い、こんな写真を撮ってみた。でも、よく見れば見るほど、手前の鉄骨の塊に萌えるばかりであった。

Light and Shadow (Mirrorless Camera Photo Walk in Shinjuku)
I joined a G+ photo walk held in Shinjuku last weekend. It was for mirrorless camera photo shooters, so I brought my Panasonic cameras and some lenses. The images in this album were all taken in Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. It was a cold day but the sunshine was very beautiful (By the way, some summery images were taken in the glasshouse in the garden).

I joined a G+ photo walk held in Shinjuku last weekend. It was for mirrorless camera photo shooters, so I brought my Panasonic cameras and some lenses. I visited the observatory of Bunkyo Civic Center with G+ friends a while ago. I saw the skyscrapers in Shinjuku, Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Skytree, etc., but this view was my favorite. I loved the contrast between the orange lights from the streets and the blue roofs of the buildings. Following Kasuga Street (left), you can see the tall buildings in Ikebukuro area including Sunshine 60 in the distance.
少し前に、Google+の友人たちと文京シビックセンターの展望台を訪れた。夕日が沈む新宿や富士山、スカイツリーなども見えたけれど、個人的に気に入ったのはこの景色。通りのオレンジの光と建物の青が印象的だった。左に伸びる春日通りをたどれば、遠くに池袋の高層ビルも見える。

I visited my favorite cherry blossom viewing spot in Suginami, Tokyo. There were only street lamps and the area was no bright enough, so I lit up the cherry blossoms by myself.

A Warm Sunday Afternoon
We had a bitterly cold Saturday, but on Sunday, the freezing atmosphere has gone and we had a rather calm day. So I visited a park nearby to find signs of spring. I was surprised when I saw a bee for the first time this year (That bee I saw was in the second image in this album).
とても寒かった土曜日。明けて日曜日は、暖かさが少し戻った。午後の柔らかい日差しの中、近所の公園を訪れてみたら、植物たちも春の準備を着々と進めていた。中でも驚いたのは、もうハチが飛んでいたこと。早くに咲いた菜の花の花粉を、一生懸命集めていた（写真２枚目）。

I love how they created this station front of Shinjuku Station. I wanted to shoot this place from above for a long time, and a photo a friend of mine took finally made me stand there. I was happy.
新宿西口駅前広場。一等地にこんな広いロータリーがぜいたくに鎮座している様が好き。長いことこの場所から撮ってみたいと思いつつ、実行していなかった。きっかけは友人が撮ったこの場所の写真。やっと実行できて満足。ところで私にとってデパートといえば京王百貨店と小田急百貨店（あとは渋谷の東急百貨店）。子どものころによく祖母と母に連れられて来て、弟といっしょにおもちゃ売り場で遊んだ。今はあの頃みたいなおもちゃ売り場は、どこのデパートにもない気がする。

There is a beautiful early-blossoming cherry tree in Saigoyama Park in Meguro Ward, Tokyo. I saw it in full bloom on February 27 last year. I visited the park again today, and the flowers were just starting to blooming. They were late more than three weeks because of the cold temperature we had in February.

176: 06/24/2012: Tiny Jizo Statues under Thick Grass

Since I saw a lot of small jizo statues placed in a narrow ground taken by +Martin Bailey (http://bit.ly/KVcncD), I had wanted to visit Daienji Temple in Meguro Ward, Tokyo. In his photo, all the jizo statures had been in a orange hat, but sadly, most of them were lost in three years or so. But a handful of them under thickly grown grass were still wearing the cute hat. By the way, this temple is known for its Gohyaku Rakan, 500 statues of Buddha's disciples shown in some of the photos in this album.
東京のJR目黒駅から歩いて10分くらいのところにある、大円寺というところに行ってきました。五百羅漢で知られる寺ですが、その横に並ぶ小さな水子地蔵が目を引きます。 +Martin Baileyさんの写真（http://bit.ly/KVcncD）でこの地蔵を見てから、ずっと行きたいと思っていました。彼の写真ではすべての地蔵がオレンジの帽子を被っていましたが、残念ながら数年のうちに、そのほとんどはダメになってしまっていたようで、ほんの一部の地蔵だけが、可愛らしい帽子を被っていました。ちなみにこの大円寺は五百羅漢像（一部の写真に写っています）で知られています。

Koenji, Suginami, Tokyo 東京・高円寺
I strolled around Koenji, Suginami Tokyo. The town is about 10-minute train ride to the west of Shinjuku. It has a lot of second-hand clothing shops and book stores, small bars and restaurants, and variety goods stores. Even if you don't have anything special to do, just walking through streets and alleys with your camera is fun.
杉並の高円寺を訪れた。古着に古本、小さいバーにレストラン、そして雑貨屋などがあふれるこの街を訪れるのは、実は２年ぶり。特に用があったわけではないが、思いのままに小路を進む写真散歩を楽しんだ。

I enjoyed the autumn leaves that day during the lunchtime. When I saw the yellow carpet spreading in front of me, I was so happy and ran on it. And I crushed a lot of ginkgo nuts with my shoes. As you know, the smell of the nuts are "wonderful," so I really didn't want to go back to the office until the "amazing" smell had gone off.
先週、昼休みに近所の公園で紅葉と落葉を楽しんだ時の写真です。黄色のカーペットを見てうれしくなり、葉っぱの上を歩き回った…ところまではよかったのですが、そこには大量の銀杏（ぎんなん）も落ちていて…。あまりに素敵な匂いが靴にベッタリ。仕事に戻りたくなくなったのは言うまでもありません。

Six months ago, I shot this place right in this angle (http://bit.ly/Q5VtdK). It was raining that day. Shooting under the thick rain clouds was rather interesting, but I prefer to shoot under a cloudless dark blue sky. Now the sky is getting clearer and clearer towards winter. I can't wait for those nights (This shot was taken at the beginning of November, and was the first cloudless shot this season).
東京・有明で半年前にこれと同じアングルの写真を撮影しました（http://bit.ly/Q5VtdK）。その時は厚い雨雲に覆われていて、カメラを雨滴から守るのが大変でした。そんな季節も遠り過ぎ、東京は乾燥した冬に向かっていきます。乾燥はお肌の大敵です…が、雲ひとつない澄み切った空が広がるのも冬の楽しみです。写真のような夜空を撮ることができるので、夜はじっとしていられないことが多くなるはずです（写真は11月の頭、このシーズン初の雲が全くない夜に撮影したものです）。

I put them on the sidewalk, letting them enjoy their own reflections and the color of autumn. Right after I took this shot, a strong wind blew and let them fall in the puddle. I rescued them. People around me enjoyed the happening.

There's a camellia tree in a corner of the park nearby. I go to see it at this time of year every year. The park is so large and the tree is away from the paths, and it's a pity that not many people notice it.

There's a camellia tree in a corner of the park nearby. I go to see it at this time of year every year. The park is so large and the tree is away from the paths, and it's a pity that not many people notice it.

I visited Jindaiji Temple in Chohu City in the western part of Tokyo. The autumn was certainly approaching there. Chofu City is known as the birthplace of the author of "Ge Ge Ge No Kitaro," one of the popular cartoons in Japan, so you will find many souvenirs related to it.

I like to walk along the river near my workplace during the lunchtime. During this season, I can't help looking up at the cherry blossoms even though my face and camera get wet.
職場の近くを流れる神田川沿いを、昼休みによく散歩する。桜の季節の雨。顔が濡れてもカメラが濡れても、桜の花を見上げずにはいられない（全５枚）。

This is the view of the road I take every day on my way to work. When I hold my camera yesterday morning, I saw a man holding his mobile phone to take a photo of cherry blossoms, and took this photo. Yotsugi, Central Circular Route 首都高中央環状線（東京・葛飾）
When I went to take photos of Katsushika Harp Bridge during the New Year holidays, the battery for my D800 ran down only after I took two or three photos. So, I had to use the GH2 that I somehow had in my bag (This is one of the photos I took then: http://bit.ly/UyxUv8). I was happy with the result but I wanted to shoot the bridge with my main camera.
So I give it a shot again when Tokyo had a clear sky three weeks later. I shot a lot of similar shots of the "harp" part of the bridge, but I'll share its "belly" this time. It was very dark, but the camera managed to capture the riverbank and the expressway lit dimly by the moon in the sky.
お正月にかつしかハープ橋を撮りに行った。そのとき、あろうことかメインのカメラのバッテリーが到着後すぐにきれてしまった。予備のバッテリーもなし。仕方なく、持っていたもう一台のカメラでその時は過ごした（結果には満足している。これがそのとき撮った写真 http://bit.ly/UyxUv8 ）。
でも、やはりメインのカメラで撮りたくて、その三週間後の晴れた夜、また同じ場所を訪れて、今度は思う存分撮影することができた。橋のメインとなる「ハープ」の部分もたくさん撮ったけれど、ここでは僕の好きな高架の「腹」をシェアしてみる。肉眼では真っ暗で足元もよく見えないくらいだが、夜空の月が暗く照らした川の土手を、カメラはしっかりとらえてくれた。

Mt. Fuji is the Mountain You Think of from Far Away
There's a poem read by a famous Japanese poet. It starts with theline, "The hometown is the place you think of from far away." For people who live in Tokyo, Mt. Fuji is seen in the far distance to the west, so when I visited Yamanaka Lake near Mt. Fuji, that famous line came up to my mind.
「富士は遠くにありて思うもの」。東京に住んでいると、富士山はいつも西の遠くの地平線に見えるから、近くに来てみたら、室生犀星の有名な詩をもじった、そんなフレーズが思い浮かんだ。

Photowalk in Kamakura 鎌倉写真散歩
On November 10, 2012, some of the Google+ and Flickr photographers got together in Kamakura, Kanagawa, which was organized by +takashi kitajima. FYI, Kamakura is the place samurais opened their government in 1192. A lot of beautiful temples and shrines are located in the city, and it's a great place to feel ancient Japan.
During with the photowalk, we visited Hokokuji Temple which is famous for its bamboo bush garden. That was the place we took photos for the first-time photo contest among the participants. Last weekend, I strolled around Ginza, one of the popular shopping areas in Tokyo, to find the gaps/alleys between tall buildings. Ginza is full of modern-looking buildings but behind them, there are a lot of old alleys and gaps, which you can walk through (and it's not illegal). This time, I discovered a couple more and enjoyed looking up at the narrowest Tokyo sky. I often do this when I have a chance to visit this area.

The Tower that Aliens Have Built
The first and the last time I captured Tokyo Skytree was a year before its completion (http://bit.ly/Vzc72z). I just don't like a banal image of the tower. You know, Skytree looks same in anyone's image.
So when I went to shoot the expressway along the Arakawa River, I didn't intend to take a photo of it but noticed that it would be interesting to capture it partially ...
The result was ... the tower looked so foreign in the usual houses and building ... Doesn't it look like a structure that were built by aliens that at first seemed friendly but were found to be very hostile later?
東京スカイツリーの写真を初めて撮ったのは、完成の１年前（ http://bit.ly/Vzc72z ）。それ以来、カメラを向けたことがなかった。スカイツリーはスカイツリーだから、誰がとっても同じ。そういうありきたりな写真はいやだったので、撮ったことがなかった。
ところが先日、荒川沿いの高架を撮りにいったときに、ツリーの一部分だけ切り取ったら面白いのではと思って撮ったのがこれ。なんだかタワーが普通の建物の中に紛れた異物みたいに見える。
ある日突然出現して、最初は友好的な宇宙人が建設したと思っていたのに、実はとても敵対的で、中からバラバラと戦闘機が出てきて地球の人たちの殺りくを始める、という感じ。

Standing on a Top of the Hill 目黒・西郷山公園
I have made it a rule to visit this park in mid-March to see this early-blooming cherry tree (This is one of the shots from last year: http://bit.ly/Wf4Po9). As soon as this small tree catches your eye, and you can't resist walking up the hill to see it closely, having a big smile on your face.
目黒の西郷山公園には、ここ数年、３月半ばになると見に来ている早咲きの桜がある（昨年の写真： http://bit.ly/Wf4Po9 ）。丘の頂で満開になるこの桜の木は、いつ見ても愛らしい。

A Girl in the Sunset
A friend of mine and I visited Daiba Park, Tokyo a couple of weeks ago. We were waiting for the sunset there, when the rain clouds covered the sky. We gave up the idea of shooting the sunset from the park, and started walking toward the shopping area where we thought we would wait until the sky cleared up. But we were caught in the rain on the way. We had to take shelter under the eaves of the public facilities on the beach ... It was not the perfect place to hide. But we soon realized we were at the perfect spot, because we were able to see the sun setting right behind the Rainbow Bridge. It was a breathtaking view.
先日、夕日の写真を撮ろうと思い、友人と台場公園に行った。そこは周囲が海で、木しかない公園。準備万端。さあ、夕焼けを待とう。そう思った矢先に雨雲が近づいてきた。そこから夕焼けを撮ることはあきらめ、台場海浜公園の方向に歩き始めると、途中で激しい雨が降ってきた。仕方なく、近くにあった公共施設のひさしで雨宿り。でも、そこで雨宿りをしてよかった。直後にこんな夕景を見ることができたのだから。

Full Bloom
The eight-fold cherry blossoms in my neighborhood were in full bloom last weekend. They always remind me of a Japanese confectionery called Sakura-mochi (The images are here: http://bit.ly/ZsCoag).
この週末、世田谷・桜新町の八重桜が満開になった。毎週日曜日はこの近くに行く用事があるので、その帰りに撮影。八重桜を見るたびに、桜餅が食べたくなる。

The pink flowers were full bloom on a tree. I don't know what they were, but they were beautiful. But looking down, I noticed the shadow of the tree was also blooming beautifully.
満開の桃色の花。種類はわからないけれど、とてもきれいだった。下を見ると、地面に落ちる木の影も、大きく美しく花開いていた。

The view from Shojoken Observatory of Kenchoji Temple, Kamakura, Kanagawa 鎌倉・勝上嶽展望台
I visited Kenchoji Temple in Kamakura. In its premises there is Shojoken Observatory which offers a great view of Mt. Fuji. I needed to go up the steep stairs and was out of breath when I reaced the top. Sadly, the highest mountain in Japan was behind the clouds, but I was able to see some nice clouds, and a good view of the central part of Kamakura City and Izu Islands in the far distance.
鎌倉・建長寺の敷地内にある勝上嶽展望台に行った。汗をかいて息を切らして険しい階段を上ったが、残念ながら富士山は雲の向こう。それでも鎌倉市内や太平洋に浮かぶ伊豆諸島までを見ることができた。今度は晴れた午前中に来て、ぜひともここからの富士山の眺めを楽しみたい。

Katsushika Herp Bridge かつしかハープ橋
I was going to take photos of this bridge right before the earthquake hit Japan two years ago. After the quake, the lights were gone for six months. Last winter, I was in the hospital for two months and was dreaming about visiting there. And tonight, I was finally went there.

Tokyo Tower is always illuminated in pink on October 1. It's part of the Pink Ribbon Campaign. I tried to find a good place to capture Tokyo Tower, the moon and other buildings in one frame, and this was the best place I found today.
今日10月1日は東京タワーがピンクになる日でした。実は別の場所に向かって車を走らせていましたが予定変更。東京タワーと月、そして街並みを一緒に写せる場所を探して歩きまわりました。港区のこの界隈は坂道が多くて疲れます。

Two Sunset Views from Mori Tower, Roppongi Hills, Tokyo
It was so challenging to post the sunset view that approximately 80 photographers witnessed from the same windows, but I'll give it a try.

Ten of My Moments in 2012
These are not my best images, but my memorable moments in 2012.
僕にとって印象深かった、ごくごくパーソナルな10枚を選んでみました。日本語の説明はそれぞれの写真のコメント欄トップに入れてあります。
1. Loop Bridge Fish-Eye
I ordered a fish-eye lens in the hospital, hoping to use it as soon as I get out there. And this was the first place I wanted to visit with the new lens. I had to wait until I got a car and a somewhat healed leg enough for a good drive. Anyway I really like this image, so this is the banner image of my Facebook profile page.
2. The View from the Hospital Lounge
This was taken in the lounge on the 11th floor of the hospital I was staying. A good thing was that the view from there was great. That's one reason that I was able to start and continue the 366 project. Two months was very very long, though.
3. Fifteen Million Viewed Snowy Scene
It was 3 days after I got out of the hospital. With a crutch in my right arm, an umbrella in my left hand, I could manage to capture the scene on my way to work. I have no idea why this image has been displayed so many times, but I am quite happy about it.
4. Salaryman Snapping Full-Blooming Sakura
It was the same place as seen in the previous image. In spring, cherry trees along the street let us enjoy its flowers. I was so happy that I was able to take this position. It's one of the very Japanese moments in my opinion.
5. Two Snipers
I joined the photo walk that welcomed +Mark Esguerra who made it here in time for cherry blossom viewing season. It was the first photo walk after spending a long time at the hospital. My right leg was far from the best condition. I was very worried at first if I could walk all the way, but yes I did it.
6. Yokohama Osanbashi
+takashi kitajima-san organized a photo walk in Yokohama to welcome me from hospital (Thank you, Kitajima-san!). The last photo shooting spot was Osanbashi pier where you can get a good view of the buildings in Minato Mirai area. Everyone seemed to be enthusiastic with taking the landscape over the fence, so I decided to try something a little different from the others there. This was what I got.
7. What's Hot
This was my second image that was featured in the global edition of What's Hot. I remember that I was thrilled to see how fast the comments were appearing under this image. The first image featured there was also an image of flowers. I wish one of my expressway shot will be featured there in 2013.
8. Lost in Shibuya
During the 366 project, I often felt "lost." I just wandered around the city, having no idea what I should capture. So I was so excited when I managed to click on a scene like this.
9. A New Perspective
I went there to capture the expressway junction seen on the background. Actually I missed the timing and cars and trucks crossed the intersection, but I liked this happening when I saw what I got.
10. Eight Months After
This was the spot I would really visit again on a cloudless evening. Of course with my newly bought camera and lens ;) It took 8 months since the accident for me to feel fine to climb the emergency stairs up to the 13th floor.

I went out to the garden to capture one of the new rose buds but those rain drops on the leaves of the rose caught my eyes.
雨上がりの朝。新しく出たバラのつぼみを撮ろうと庭に出てみると、バラの葉に付いた雨粒が目を引いた。

Last Saturday I joined the London Tokyo Photo Club's photowalk in downtown Tokyo. In the previous post (http://bit.ly/Sb4Mop), I shared photos taken in Mukojima area. Lavender Field
Actually it was not a lavender field. I found them growing in the flowerbed in a park I visited during the photo walk we had in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan last weekend. I touched it and enjoyed its fragrance for a while.
ラベンダー畑……と言いたいところだけれども、これは先週末の横浜写真散歩の途中、港の見える丘公園で見かけたラベンダーの花壇。ラベンダーの葉にさわると、あの独特の香りが指に付いて、しばしクンクン。ひどい雨を忘れることができた。

When I visited Shinonome Junction in Koto Ward last week, I tried a spot I hadn't tried before. It was around 9 P.M. and the streets were still busy. I got interesting light trails around the main subject here (Shinonome Junction).

Shibuya Station, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line 東京メトロ副都心線渋谷駅
I wish I could capture this view again, but it's impossible now. The Tokyo Toyoko Line will soon use these tracks at the Shibuya Station of the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, and the part of the platform that cover these tracks has been taken away. So I reedit one of the images I took when I visited there with +Eric Seaholm in 2011. Time flies.
この構図をもう一度撮りたいと思っても、東京メトロ副都心線渋谷駅への東急東横線の乗り入れが間近に迫った今、それは不可能。仕方がないから、一昨年、友人とともに入場券を買ってここに入ったときに撮影したものを、改めて現像処理して懐かしむことにする。

みなさん、Google+に「Tokyo Photo Walkers - 東京写真散歩」（http://bit.ly/YT2ama）というコミュニティができました。「カメラを持って東京を歩いてみたい！」という写真愛好家のためのコミュニティで、お住まいの場所は問いません。
この「Tokyo Photo Walkers」では、次のようなことをしていきたいと考えています。「こんな写真散歩はどう？」という提案や検討。「こんなところに行ってきたよ！」「こんな物を見たよ！」という報告。「こんなところ行きたいんだけれど、どう思う？」という質問などなど。単に写真をシェアするだけの場所ではなく、東京に来る予定のある人達が見ても、有益な情報に溢れる場所にしたいと思っています。
ということで、みなさん、ふるってご参加ください。また、コミュニティの情報をお知り合いの方にお知らせください！

270: 09/26/2012: Morning Glories on a Glorious Morning
There are signs of autumn everywhere, while I'm happy to see some flowers that are trying to extend its summer season.
秋の兆しがあちこちに顔を出してきました。でも、夏を楽しもうって訴えかけるものが道端にあったりして、ちょっとうれしくなります。

The Flowers of Mansaku マンサクの花
Some of the early spring flowers has started to bloom. This one is called Mansaku in Japanese. I have no idea what it is called in other languages. Its shape is so interesting. It looks like party crackers, doesn't they?
近所の公園でこの花が咲き始めると、その後どんなに寒い日が来ても、冬が終わった気がする。マンサクの花。パーティークラッカーのような形をしていて面白い。

I enjoyed driving on Metropolitan Expressways under the sunny sky. I used an ND400 filter and a gorillapod for these shots. In the last shot of this album, you'll see how I set my camera in the car.
今日は天気がよかったので首都高ドライブを楽しんだ。撮影にはND400フィルターを、また、カメラをダッシュボードに固定するためにはゴリラポッドを使った（その様子はアルバム最後の写真で）。
