For me, the Rolling Stones are a constant reminder that Life without Music is simply unimaginable!

Will the lack of REAL support and accountability kill Google?

As much as I Love Google, the continued lack of support has forced me to migrate to other solutions.  Nagging problems with Voice, Picasa, Chrome, and other products have forced me to non-Google solutions.  Spending hours of time over the years searching forums for solutions is bad enough, but finding that the problems are never addressed or even acknowledged is even worse.  

Compounding this, the unpredictable dropping of products and services that I depend on (Reader for example), has added a serious bit of queasiness to my former Google exuberance. 

This opinion piece is only one example of the situation(s) I'm referring to.   

Anyone have a solution or course of action to suggest?

Employees in #Illinois may soon face a whole new level of digital scrutiny, if the US state passes a proposed law to give employers legal access to their workers' social media accounts.
 
The state's House of Representatives passed the bill on April 19 by a 68-36 margin, sending it to the state Senate for the final vote. Though the law would allow workers to deny their employers' request for access, many cautioned that employees could feel pressured to comply.

So, here it is! The moment we've all been waiting for ...

As an athlete, I really believe in the value of cross-training. I run, but I also cycle, hike, swim, dance ... it's a good way to get the muscles doing something slightly different, strengthen parts that might be weak, and help me think about running in new ways.

The same is true with any activity - sporting or otherwise. So, to help me learn more about photography, I'm venturing very lightly into the world of video editing ... and here's my first one!

Google+ dominates poll despite stacked deck!

Lifehacker is running a poll, asking "What’s Your Social Network of Choice?"

But they give Facebook and Twitter an unfair advantage: At the bottom are "Like" buttons for Facebook and Twitter. They're giving a tool to virally promote the poll on two of the social networks, but not the others. As a result, Facebook and Twitter have WAY more votes than Linkedin, Pinterest, MySpace and Instagram.

But Google+ is dominating the poll anyway, with (at the time I write this) twice as many votes as Facebook.

That's not enough.

Box jumps
3 sets of 10 reps
Works glutes, hamstrings, quads, calves

1) Kick-start your workout by driving explosive power into your legs. Stand in front of a bench, with feet hip-width apart. 
2) Squat, then jump up onto the bench. Step down, then go again. Rest 30 seconds between your sets.

Forward stair crawls
3 sets of 30 secs
Works abs, shoulders, glutes, quads, hamstrings, calves

1) Drop down on all fours, with hands and feet on the stairs. 
2) Climb up the stairs keeping your back straight. Turn round and go down the stairs forwards. That’s one set. Rest 30 seconds, then go again.

Pull-ups
4 sets of 5 reps
Works lats, biceps

1) Working your lats shifts lots of calories. Once you’ve found a bar for pull-ups, grab it.
2) Pull your chin over the bar; bring knees up. Lower to the start. Do all reps, rest for 30 seconds and go again.

Wall hangs
2 sets
Works triceps, arms, shoulders

1) Sit on the edge of a wall.
2) Place palms flat next to you. Push down to raise your body. Hold 20 seconds, then shimmy 2 metres to the left. Hold for 20 seconds; shimmy to the right. That’s 1 set.

Wall sit
4 sets of 1 minute
Works glutes, hamstrings, quads, calves

1) Find out how effective not moving can be by standing with your back to a wall. 
2) Lower until your thighs are parallel to the ground. Hold for a minute. 

Backward stair crawls
3 sets
Works abs, shoulders, calves, glutes, quads, hamstrings

1) Get on all fours at the base of a flight of stairs and turn your body to face away from the stairs. 
2) Step back, one foot at a time. When you reach the top, go down backwards. Rest 1 minute and go again.

Raised arm plank
4 sets
Works lats, biceps, quads, calves

1) For unconventional core strength, get on all fours and place your forearms on a step. 
2) Put your feet out behind you and raise your body. Your back should be flat. Hold for 15 seconds, then lower. Rest for 45 seconds and repeat.

This workout is designed by Blake Dickson, an instructor in ‘parkour’ – the French discipline of moving through your environment without letting any obstacles stop you.

In posting about #MarriageEquality  I've learned that a lot of you have an issue with what religion says about marriage. Here's the deal with that: the moment the government gave anyone benefits for marriage it became a civil institution, not a religious one. You are free to abide to your own rules, but at no point should you ever use your religion to infringe on the rights of others. Leave the judging up to your God. Some of us are trying to make The United States of America greater than they currently are.

The rules our nation lives by is not your Bible. It's not hard to understand.
