Meet Tank! This weekend is my play date weekend with him and yesterday we had a blast visiting +Darian Lewis! He was so tuckered out from all the food and playing, he fell asleep on the car ride home, then took a long nap when we got home, and essentially laid out on the couch the rest of the evening. This was him after his nap, still sleepy.
This image of a Swarovski crystal was shot against the blue afternoon sky. While I liked the coloration of light within the crystal, I felt the overall image was too blue. So I converted to black and white, and now one can say the image is too grey and I could not decided which one to chose. In the end, the b/w won.
Slowly, but surely, I will have all of the shots from the G+ Anniversary photo walk processed and uploaded. Until then, here is another shot from my walk with +Stephanie Fecik!
Voodoo Baby is an iPhoneographer and loves taking photos whenever an opportunity arrises. He struggles a bit with carrying the phone, but with a little help from friends, he continues to explore this wonderful hobby. I was able to grab a shot of him showing off one of his recent photos.
I went for an abstract feel for this shot, taken looking up at the ceiling. To me, the shadows and lines create an almost 3D rendering of a corner of a cube, which I liked.
"There are no words to express the feelings that induce a sailor to offer fervent prayers when he sees this mark of sympathy expressed by his fellow men. Suddenly he sees that he is no longer alone in the midst of the ocean waves: he sees that people are caring for him with paternal solicitude." -Lt. Lavrentiy Alekseyevich Zagoskin, on sighting the light house at Sitka, Alaska, in 1839
Meet Briggs! My heart instantly melted when I saw this little guy on the +The Google + One Year Anniversary Photowalk with +Stephanie Fecik. He was very curious about my camera and kept going in for close inspections, haha. Such a well-mannered cutie.
Upon request, the colored image for this week's +Project52-2012. Hmm, not sure which one I should have chosen. I literally stared at both images for more than 30 minutes.
There are only a few things that beat a comfortable pair of flip flops during the summer...
Another quickie shot for this week. I am moving out of state on Saturday and have been packing all weekend. There is still a lot more to pack, but I am making great progress!
A picture of the six Gugliotti kids (I'm # 5 in the order)! This shot was taken in September 1983, celebrating my younger brother's 3rd birthday. I was 5 and in Kindergarten (I'm the innocent one all the way to the right, hugging my oldest sister, +Gina Fishman).

We always had a slice of ice cream to go with our cake. Instead of using a scoop, my parents would open the half-gallon box of ice cream on its side and used a knife to cut it out. Odd, but it was what we did. I guess it was faster dishing out ice cream for 10 people (6 kids, both parents and grandparents) this way vs another.

Original photo by +Ginger Grant. The photo was converted to b/w, with two Magenta Fade layers applied sequentially.
Found this gem of a photo to play with tonight. I adjusted the horizon a bit to align with the verticals of the house, then brought the image into Silver Efex Pro 2 and passed it through the Full Dynamic (harsh) preset. I adjusted the contrast and smoothed out the fine details in the clouds. A selenium tone was added to the final image.
RESHARE: Maybe I should take more notes on how to control my anger...
Reshared text: His Holiness the Dalai Lama talks about dealing with anger in this short clip (duration 2:06) from his visit to Doon School in Dehradun, India, on October 28, 2011. The entire event can be viewed at http://youtu.be/A7_0IJTBoNA
I am not the one to have my photo taken. Like so many of you, I am more comfortable behind the camera. This shot was taken quickly, with my favorite pug Tank!

RESHARE: Fantastic astrophotography work by +russ vallelunga. This is a great example of what patience and time can present to you when working with the night sky.
Reshared text: Something wonky with posting stuff today; never seems to take!
Anyways, here' s the first stack, the Lagoon Nebula, from last nights excursion. This was actually the 2nd-to-last thing I photographed. It was so big and loverly I had to give it first dibs of my attention. the best 12 of 15 frames, plus 9 darks, 1 minute exposures at ISO 3200.
I cloned out the black hinge in the glass door (I'm assuming it is a door) and the reflections from the glass. The photo was cropped, then a glow-in-the-dark present was applied using Topaz Adjust v5.

For this week's #HackThisPhoto , I gave the original photo by +Alex Lapidus a more vintage look using Topaz Adjust 5 plugin for Aperture. A slight crop and some vignetting were added for the final form.
Yay for the return of my internet connection! Here are some photos from our photo walk to commemorate the G+ One-Year Anniversary in Baltimore, Maryland! Had a fabulous time chatting and taking photos with +Stephanie Fecik!
Film stock version of this image for #HackThisPhoto 's Speed Hack.
B/W & vignette added using Aperture, border created using Pixelmator. I don't know about anyone else, but I totally thought the rat was real when I first saw the photo (it is fake, correct? haha).
