I saw some swatches recently of Nfu Oh polishes and I fell in love. The one on the left is 51 and the one on the right is 52. They are from the Opals collection and they are amazing.
I usually don't pay over the odds for polishes because I don't think expensive means good, but these are definitely worth it. These are beyond your average glitters or flakes.
This mani colour scheme was inspired by my friend who’s signature colours are green and purple. So this was an ideal time to break out the green polish and get it all sparkly.
I only own 1 green polish and I’m glad it’s this one. It’s such a wonderful metallic dark green. I need more Sinful Colors polishes though I think.

Okay so this is the Nubar: Treasure I posted yesterday. It seems to be the most popular.
It's rather sheer, so I applied it over a nice grape shade of purple. (Rimmel: Blue My Mind) and put a couple coats over the top. Boy is it sparkly and shiny and amazing.
The one thing you can't see here is that this fine grained purple holo-glitter has depth. It actually looks like it's 3D and not just glitter on nails.
Reshared text: The picture is shit and I've done no clean-up, but these are the skull nail stickers. They are pretty good. The stick is very sticky. I did put a top coat over it though.
As usual I'm a bit sparkly and again it was hard to take the shot. I know this is a little blurry, but the ring finger shows the second top coat best. The glitter coat is obvious, but the Nubar coat is subtle and you need a glare of shine to see it. It givess the while thing this metalic shine.

Reshared text: LOOKIE!!! I don't normally buy nail sticker type things, but there was absolutely no way I could resist these if my life depended on it.
This sparkles like mad. I've taken this shot in the sunlight, but it was overcast. So you can actually see the colours. The sparkle top coat is purple glitter with some blue glitter in there too. A friend sent it to me from the States.

Charlie used to climb up in the bookshelves when he was a tiny kitten. Recently he's taken to climbing into the last bookshelf I bought which isn't currently stuffed full of books.
This is the first time I've been able to catch of him up in there. Seriously, seeing this in person is brain meltingly cute.
I bought more nail polish. I know, shocker. How could I resist Barry M's little retro collection though? Anyone looking for good shiny slightly metallic primary colours should grab these.
Base: Barry M (Retro collection) - Tainted Love Top: Models Own Pro - Diamond Clear Top Coat
The blue is very blue and slightly metallic. Like you'd see on the old Hot Rods. In some light it looks purple even though which is lovely.
The top coat is part of Models Own Pro line which is 3 Free. I mention my top coat specifically though for one reason; it smells. I know all polish smells, but this smells good. It took me a bit by surprise if I'm honest, but I like it.
Reshared text: The other Red Dog Designs polish post I got is up. I really cannot recommend these polishes enough. There are 2 more in the collection I didn't get but I'm sure they are jsut as awesome.
I'm sure that by now you've all realised that leaving my nails in a normal condition is something I just can't manage. So yesterday after I posted the pictures of the blue I took it off so I could see what the red looked like.
So, I put the red on and it was lovely and my nails stayed like that for several hours with plans to take pictures for you today, but a few hours passed and I just couldn't let them be. I just had to play.
What you see here is me not being satisfied with normal. So I present to you my retro 2-tone nails. The red is another in the Barry M Retro collection and is a lovely true red with that slight metallic shine to it. Another classic Hot Rod colour come to life.

This is one of the Nubar polishes I bought recently. I've worn it a couple times now. It's a very wine-y red/purple. Depending on the top coat it can look more red or purple, but this is pretty much straight up. Really happy with the colour.
The village fete was today and every year they have a table selling used books. Every year I scour the table and the boxes below it for something wonderful; and I usually succeed. This year there was less success, but success nonetheless.
This is a 1977 printing of Through The Looking Glass. The cover is embossed with this metallic leaf. The inside cover is filled with Alice and the interior has B&W and lovely colour illustrations throughout. It's a nearly perfect condition and only cost me £1.
Today I tried something that I've been wanting to for some time. I don't think I've ever researched something as much as I have for this.
BBQ Pulled Pork
I had many options and many techniques to choose from. I chose the type of texture and flavour profile I wanted and settled on a plan.
Last night I I did a very basic dry rub. Sea Salt Smoked Hot Paprika Mexican Oregano Black Pepper Cumin Garlic Powder Chilli Powder Dried Chilli flakes
Today I popped it into the oven to cook. First at 200 C to brown it, then I covered it and turned it down to 125 C for about 5.5 hours. I kept checking it every hour or so to see how it was doing and check if it was going dry. It wasn't and I was very happy with the progress and result.
Afterwards I made a BBQ sauce using essentially the same spices as the rub with a couple of additions.
English Mustard Red Vinegar Cider Vinegar Dark Brown Sugar
So, shred, mix, eat. This was a roaring success. I'm glad I bought 2 pork shoulders now.
I've pretty much just created my own duo-tone. It's a little hard to see here, but depending which way my hand is tilted, I see blue, purple or the metallics of the Accessorize polish.
I applied Barry M Cobalt then put a coat of the Accessorize Shade 38 that I bought the other day over the top.
+James Desborough plucked and readied one of the birds for dinner.
It got roasted with some red potatoes and turnips. No freaky spices, just some salt & pepper and a little smoked paprika on the veg. The pheasant got a nice bacon blanket.
Unlike other birds, pheasants don't have to cook for very long, usually 30-45 min depending on your oven and the size of the bird.
Sorry +Dirk Reul didn't get any plated shots. It was too yummy to pause.
Changed my mind and just went with the cheddar. Not a bad decision.
There's nothing special about this loaf other than the cheese and being hand made. If you've never made your own bread, you should. I always love making my own bread.
RESHARE: I need to make these. Like seriously NEEEEEEEED!!!

So I bought a negative scanner, the VFS-002M, and it works very well. It comes with software which is easy to use. Seriously, for £30 I have zero complaints. It's definitely worth more than that.
So, for your viewing pleasure, the first of the Holga images. These are right from the negative to here. No filters. No after effects. Nothing at all. This is what a Holga produces.
Pretty sure I've not posted this one yet. It's from late September when it was still sunny and we went wandering around paths around the village. Somehow we'd never gone up this one, but it was rather hidden.
So you all know how much I love to cook and my general obsession with food. So time for a food circle so that when I make those posts like I made earlier about my gnocchi and I can let you know that I have been playing in the kitchen again.
There won't be tons of them, but there will be notifications. So who wants in?
