New Circle Announcement: European Top Photography

I am in the works of putting together a circle for great talent from all over Europe. It doesn't matter if you're into nature, portrait, street, or any other type of photography, as long as your feed contains good quality original work. There is no follower limit so everybody is welcome to ask for inclusion as long as your own images dominate your feed.

If YOU are an European photographer and want to be a part of the new circle, let me know in the comments. I ask you kindly to reshare this post so that I can promote as many talented photographers as possible when it'll be time to share this circle with the rest of the world.

The first share of ETPC will be end of next week.

The gallery shares will generally take place on Thursday or Friday.

Hopefully the circle includes everyone that contributed to Monochrome Monday this week, but experience says we missed some. Everyone is important to the success of the theme and we apologize if we missed you.

This tutorial has been recreated to suit the new UI

● Your Google+ Photos can be accessed using the Photos button/icon that is the left Google Ribbon.
● Clicking the icon will direct you to Photos from your Phone
● On the Top, you will see Four tabs;
From Phone | Photos of you | Albums | From your posts
● To Upload Photos;
--> Hover over the icon on the ribbon, and click Add Photos.
--> Inside https://plus.google.com/photos/ select Upload new photos
● Photos from your phone
--> Shows the photos uploaded using Instant Upload.
--> To share the photos uploaded from your mobile, simply select the relevant photos, and click SHARE.
--> You can multiple select items by clicking each, or by Highlighting using your Mouse.
--> You are free to bundle similar/relevant photos and create a New Album.
--> You could also add them to any of your Existing albums.
● Photos of you
--> These are the photos that you have been tagged in.
--> Photos are categorized as to, with whom in your circles were the images tagged.
● Photos from your posts
--> This is a list of images that you attach when publishing your posts.
--> For your convenience, the images are listed according to the Date they were posted, with the number of images per post.
--> If you created an album of images while creating your post, the album will appear with the title you've given.
● Your albums
--> Here you see all the photo albums that you've created and uploaded up-to-date.
--> The albums also include; Photos from posts, Profile Pictures, Scrapbook photos, Mobile uploads, & Blogger pictures.
--> Clicking on Sharing Settings, enables you to set who can see the respective albums. You are also able to lock the albums, in order to prevent re-sharing.

► LIGHT BOX
○ The Light box view of G+ images has many options.
--> TOP-LEFT
* Rotate Left/Right
* Auto-fix the image to automatically set the contrast & brightness.
* Creative kit - This feature allows the users to edit the photos with absolutely creative edits; Powered by Picnik.
--> RIGHT-SIDEBAR
* Thumbnail+Name of the Person who posted the image
* Description: If the image was shared by you, You are given the option to EDIT the caption at Mouse-hover.
*Tag People (If allowed) - Select faces of people on the image, to add tags.
* Comments
* To add a comment, either scroll down the comments, or click Comment.
* Photo Details : Specs of the Camera and the image.
--> BOTTOM OPTIONS
* +1 button is available below the comments box.
* Share the image with your circles.
* On the Bottom-Left, displays the album, owner, and the number of images in the album.
* View options - Download in full size (if allowed), Photo details, Report photo.
* If there are more than one photo in the album, there is an option to View All. This shows a strip of all photos in the album.

► MANAGING & REARRANGING
○ Under Your Albums, select the relevant Album
○ You could share by clicking Share
○ You could add more photos to the album by clicking Add photos
○ MORE : Share album via link, Delete Album & Organize Album
To re-arrange the photos inside the album, click Organize album
Select(Multiple selection is possible), Drag & Drop in the desired location.
To Move to another Album; Select -> and Choose the album to Move to.
To Sort by Date added; Select -> Click Order by date

► DIMENSIONS
○ Your Google+ Profile Picture - 200 x 200 pixels
--> For a better view of your profile picture, edit it to a square before uploading it.
--> To make sure it appears nice, resize it to 48 x 48px and see.
○ Your 5 Scrapbook Photos - 110 x 110 pixels.
--> The gap between the scrapbook pictures is 16px.
--> The recommended size is 150 x 150 pixels.
○ All your photos of larger resolutions are reduced upto 2048px.


► PICASA WEB ACCOUNT

As you upload more photos and videos in Picasa Web Albums, please keep in mind the following account limits:

◆ Maximum number of web albums: 10,000
◆ Maximum number of photos and videos per web album: 1,000

Photos up to 2048 x 2048 pixels and videos up to 15 minutes won't count towards your free storage.

Automatic resizing

'Kronenburger Tower", at the Kronenburgerpark Nijmegen, NL
The Kronenburgerpark in Nijmegen has an English landscape style. The thirty-meter high Gunpowder or Kronenburger Tower was built 1425 as a defense tower . Today, together with the round walltowers and parts of the old defensewall, it is merely a remnant of the demolished fortifications of Nijmegen.
(Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands: today it goes back 2007 years in history)

Monument voor Joris Ivens, beroemd filmmaker, in 1990 onthuld. Het metershoge monument van plaatstaal doet denken aan een flessenopener maar moet worden gezien als een gestileerde filmcamera. Het komt van de hand van B. Maters. Erop staat: "Dikwijls, ver weg, bleef Nijmegen, mijn jeugd, toch dicht bij mij."

In 1990 this monument for Joris Ivens, a famous cineast, was unveiled. The monument, made out of sheet steel and several metres high, brings to mind a bottle-opener but should be taken for a stylised film camera. It was designed by B. Maters. It carries the text: "Dikwijls, ver weg, bleef Nijmegen, mijn jeugd, toch dicht bij mij. Joris Ivens" (translation: Often, far away, Nijmegen, my youth, still remained close to me. Joris Ivens).

Not razorsharp 'cause its all handheld but naming it an experiment thats ok I guess :D

After the town expanded across the river, a special bridge for pedestrians and bikers was attached to the railway bridge. Somehow the old and new shapes do match rather well I think :)

It was a rrrrrrrreally lovely day! 22celcius .. at March 25!

On the photo, taken today: my birthcity 'Nijmegen', the oldest city in the Netherlands.
2007 Years ago founded as Noviomagus, later on named ‘Numaga’ which changed over time to ‘Nieumeghen’, ‘Nimmegen’, ‘Nimwegen’ and 'Nijmegen'.

While cruising around in the Berner Oberland, Switzerland, we were on the search for a parking spot to stretch the legs and take some photos... '1km to next P' ..

well.. uhm.. it was a parkingspot but somehow we did not stay that long :)

New toolbar button setting: icons or words

When we launched Gmail’s new look, we did something different: we put icons on the buttons. Icons brought consistency across languages and solved problems with functions that had long names.

Some people loved the new icons. Others, especially low vision users, found words easier to distinguish. We’ve been listening to your feedback and we now have a setting that lets you turn the icons into words. You can make the change by clicking the gear to open Settings, and changing your button labels on the General tab.

Love the icons? No problem. Icons will continue to be the default, and you can always hover over the button to see its name.

Op de website NU.nl is op woensdag 14 maart 2012 tijdelijk kwaadaardige code geplaatst, waardoor de pc's van bezoekers van deze website werden aangevallen. Onderzoek heeft uitgewezen dat een groot aantal systemen getroffen zijn. Als je computer besmet is geraakt kan gevoelige informatie zoals je inloggegevens voor een banksite of creditcardgegevens en zelfs betalingen zelf onderschept worden.

Meerdere antivirus applicaties kunnen de besmetting detecteren maar vooralsnog kan alleen HitmanPro (freeware) deze ook verwijderen. Download op http://www.surfright.nl/nl/downloads/

Just noticed the +1 has undergo a change .. its red on white when you didn't use it and turns white on red when you did.
well at least its now more clear in comparison to the previous white/blue'ish colour :)
