OMG, I grew up in the Detroit area watching Canadian TV across the river. This used to play sometimes between Canadian sesame street and Mr dress up instead of commercials.
Reshared text: Fascinating Abandoned Places in The World
I'm sure that you've never heard of these fascinating places. When you look at them, you will be amazed and will probably imagine what was the life around them before they were abandoned.
As a photographer, one of my favorite quotes of all time is by Marcel Proust, "The true voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes". This means that you don't need to travel half way across the world in order to have new experiences or see beautiful things.
However, I originally got into photography not because of my love of the art (that came later), but because of my love of travel. Of experiencing contrasting ways of life. Of seeing first hand some of the most beautiful places on this planet.
So I ask you, what is the top three places you would want to visit and why?
I will start it off (in no particular order)...
- Myranmar (Burma): In 2011 Burma finally democratically elected their new leader, after years of brutal military rule. The country is becoming increasingly westernized and I want to capture atleast a piece of their culture before this change happens.
- Mongolia: Mongolia has been one of those counties that has been at the top of my list for years. Between the Govi desert, ancient horse culture and varied mountainous terrain, there is a lot to love.
Venezuela: While Venezuela is not "untraveled", it doesn't receive that many visitors from North America. With some of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen (Dragon Falls and Angle Falls), amazing caribbean beaches and dense jungles....I could spend weeks here and not touch the surface.
Chris Rock quote: If you vote against Obama because he can't get stuff done, it's like saying, "this guy can't cure cancer. I'm gonna vote for cancer."
I have a graduate degree in pharmacology. I have spent way more time than you studying and learning why drugs do what they do. I have no clue or understanding why different types of booze, with the exact same EToH content have v completely different and predictable drunks.
I get it, because they're going to keep using Keys no matter what and not moving into this epoch, so they have someone name KEYS to direct their creative efforts, because if someone who is named KEYS isn't going to protect their interest in KEYS, no one will!

RESHARE: These, and toilet paper limiting devices. WTF is the thinking there? Are they intentionally trying to create a world of poorly washed people to promote disease? Are they trying to create the new plague to lower population problems?

Reinstating Glass-Steagall would mean breaking up sprawling Wall Street institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Bank of America."
Obsoleting all that tech to landfills for no performance upgrade or any discernible advantage of any kind, not even moving to a superior industry standard like microUSB.....
That's just revolting. That's all blood-tech too. Compounding Apple's blood-tech footprint exponentially. They have to be one of the worst companies in the world.

No one actually answers these "Security Questions" with the actual answers to the questions do they? Everyone knows you pick random multi word answers with spaces, don't they?
The area of the post where it says Limited, Public, etc., that should have a color intensity, so we know if that post was funneled to us via a highly thoughtful selection process that the sender really wanted me and a few others to see it, vs. blast messages that are post diarrhea.
eg. The word Public would be black The word Limited will be grey if this message was sent more than 10,000 people The word Limited will be less grey if the message was sent to more than 5,000 people The word Limited will be green if the message was to more than 1,000 people The word Limited will be blue if it was sent to 100 people The word Limited will be Purple if it was sent to 10 people The word Limited will be Orange if it was sent to 5 people
This was we can really see in our streams if someone was really caring about us when they sent the message or if they were just looking for eyes.
What if I told you that from a bacteriological stand point, hands washed in running water alone are just as clean as hands washed in soap as hands washed in antibacterial soap?
What makes a difference in killing bugs on your hands? Water temp. Hot water alone removes more bacterial spores from your hands than does tepid water and soap.
If you're using cold or tepid water to wash your hands it doesn't matter if you use soap or lye or napalm.
Reshared text: A couple of years ago, I came across part of a recording called "Found on the Elevator". It was just a few minutes of a recording from the future, that was archived on a record in the past. It was supposedly found in an elevator in New York City in 1969.
Here's the way it was described: "This recording is an "unauthorized experiment" that was made in the year 2058 C.D.S. (Carbon Dating System), a "blue verbal data feed" sent backwards in time to "retro A.D." by Decker, T. L., index J-3, CMR 00965 of T-Group Roaring Vectors 252, a human cyborg who suffers from a malfunctioning number nine electrode in his head which causes him to have an emotional breakdown as he records this message. It's a secret message to a past world he has trouble imagining, a world of foreign substances like metal, plastic, animals, soldiers... a world all physical and "impossibly slow."
It was really fantastic. It reminded me of a lot of the late night Joe Frank broadcasts I listened to in my 20s on KXLU or KCRW when I'd be driving around late at night, because I could.
For months, I scoured the Internet, looking for the rest of the recording, or more information about it. Mostly what I found were blogs and BBS posts form other people who were looking for the same thing, but no leads. I knew it was a work of fiction, a work of art, but I desperately wanted it to be real, so while I searched for the entire recording, I imagined the world that it came from. (I won't tell you how it lives in my mind, because I don't want to affect how it lives in yours, should you chose to create it for yourself.)
Eventually, I gave up the search and went back to looking at pictures of cats who want to buy boats, and forgot all about it.
Until this morning.
This morning, my friend Mer RT'd a link from William Gibson that led to the entire first side of the record. It is just as amazing and wonderful as I always hoped it would be, and well worth the wait.
Now I just need to find a recording of Side Two...
RESHARE: I so love images that make HDR-tists look like they're wasting their time.
This is single exposure.

Happy #FloralFriday everyone!!! I am showing something different than my regular floral work today. I thought this would be just perfect!!
Have a great day and start to a fabulous weekend!
#FloralFriday does have a community (https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/101224450803598731206) and I will go through the posts there as well as using the search engine like I normally do. I do find that you will have more interaction by posting to your stream and circles than posting to the community. I don't think a lot of people are going through shots there yet.
-- You can plus mention me like this +Tamara Pruessner, you don't have to tag me on the photo.
-- I will try to share some throughout today...your photo has to be public and unlocked . I don't share everyone's shot, please don't get upset if yours doesn't get shared. I pick randomly.
-- Please be sure to share this post with the instructions for #FloralFriday , if you want to be a part of the fun and spread the word far and wide and have EVEN MORE flowers in your stream!

Others suggest that the flavourings sometimes added to the nicotine-bearing solution make them especially attractive to children—a sort of nicotine equivalent of “alcopop” drinks. But these objections seem to be driven by puritanism, not by reason http://econ.st/10hL6Dp
Reshared text: Hey all. I need your help. I'm attempting to write a non-fiction book and I'm looking for people with a chronic disease to interview. I'm not looking for the tear-jerker or depressing stories. I want to focus on humor, silly situations and the absurd when it comes to romance, sex, love lives and the challenges thereof.
All names will be changed of course.
If you, or someone you know, would be willing to be interviewed, that would be awesome. If you don't want to post here, please contact me (karmichoax@gmail.com). Everything would be absolutely confidential.
This idea popped into my head because of my Crohn's and my many eye-rolling situations I've been in because of it. Note: I'm looking for ANY type of chronic disease, it doesn't need to be related to the digestive system.
This interview stuff would begin with a questionnaire, an email exchange and some phone chats. If possible and if it serves the story, some face-to-face time may be scheduled, but it's NOT required. Thanks!
Reshared text: HELLO G+! I was hoping to call on my G+ friends and family for a little help for our daughter Miriam.
Many years ago we found out about a procedure that could help our now 8 year old blind/autistic daughter Miriam see for the first time in her life. (Some of you have come to know her on G+ as the little girl with a BIG hard to come by photo smile.) The revolutionary procedure has been had by many people we know with much success but it is still in testing and not available in our country (though they say soon) which means it is costly and not covered by insurance. We have friends with blind children who can now see and we so very much want that for our daughter. We raised about $1400 many years ago but we suffered a very emotional miscarriage and had to postpone fundraising. We have now decided that it is time to start once again adding to the savings we have built up to go. We are not big on asking anyone for help and would give anything if we could afford it on our own but unfortunately we cannot. Obviously nobody plans for things like this, we were told she would never see and that was that. We now know it is possible and hope we can grant Miriam's wish to be able to do so. For more information and/or to donate please visit Miriam's fund me page. There you will find a link about the procedure and to the KVUE news report done on Miriam. The procedure and living expenses have gone up since we last tried fundraising so we know this is going to be tough but we figure tough we can handle if it means our daughter getting to see the twinkling lights at Christmas or the faces of the people she loves.
We would love any support you can give, even if it is only a +up or a share.
From the bottom of my heart, ALL of our hearts, THANK YOU!
