I have met so many interesting people since Google+ started. Some treat this service as "just another social platform" and some treat it as "a new revolution".
I can't help but feel we are engaged in something special.
Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm. It's contagious :-)
I’d pick a passionate amateur over an uninterested professional any day The secret sauce to any interesting story is passion. A story told without it is just boring... http://pulse.me/s/1BT2M
Talk JSON to your MySQL database - would that be cool?
What if all you needed to do is upload your schema to a web site and you would get a tested RESTful server back in return - would that be useful to you?
This is the world's first open source HTML5 SIP client entirely written in javascript for integration in social networks (FaceBook, Twitter, Google+), online games, e-commerce websites... +Josh Adell did a really great thing today. He went out of his way to solve a problem for me that really had nothing to do with him. How often do we do that for others?
SOMETHING broke the peer to peer message system by removing the ICON and the GROUP from the fly-out menu! On my machine this applies to all stream views where I want to add a single recipient to a post.
Now I type +Name Surname or @Name Surname and I don't know where the message is going because I see a list of names nearly spelled the same with some duplicates even.
WHO AM I SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE?

THIS MAKES THE WHOLE IDEA OF PERSONAL COMMUNICATION REDUNDANT!
The HUAWEI E5331 works really well with Cell C Data SIM. I am surprised that it is as fast as the Cell C high speed modem (black). The bonus is that it does not drain your laptop battery while on the move.

A is for awk, which runs like a snail, and B is for biff, which reads all your mail. C is for cc, as hackers recall, while D is for dd, the command that does all. E is for emacs, which rebinds your keys, and F is for fsck, which rebuilds your trees. G is for grep, a clever detective, while H is for halt, which may seem defective. I is for indent, which rarely amuses, and J is for join, which nobody uses. K is for kill, which makes you the boss, while L is for lex, which is missing from DOS. M is for more, from which less was begot, and N is for nice, which it really is not. O is for od, which prints out things nice, while P is for passwd, which reads in strings twice. Q is for quota, a Berkeleytype fable, and R is for ranlib, for sorting ar table. S is for spell, which attempts to belittle, while T is for true, which does very little. U is for uniq, which is used after sort, and V is for vi, which is hard to abort. W is for whoami, which tells you your name, while X is, well, X, of dubious fame. Y is for yes, which makes an impression, and Z is for zcat, which handles compression.
I am already an App Publisher but can't publish an Ebook for FREE because I am an App Publisher :-(
So let's say I want to publish a EBook for my App - how do I give it to my customers for FREE?
The following error(s) occurred: The iTunes Store account entered is already being used for an iTunes Connect account that distributes Apps. To continue with this application, you must enter a different iTunes account.
AND - it gets better - Neither can I publish an Ebook for Sale - WTF are these people thinking?
Public opinion is a powerful and frequently uninformed beast. Public communication is difficult to manage in our networked world.
The damage done through recent cascading events reach far beyond the confines of the announcements.
The lack of Brand differentiation between tools and platforms are at the heart of the communication problem Adobe is now facing. HTML5 is not a platform - WebKit is.
Lumping every initiative under Flash has value if you intend to grow the Brand, but if you kill any of the sub programs you damage the Brand more than just removing the effects of the initiative (e.g. Mobile).
Given the negative climate (iOS etc.), the Flash brand was already under pressure from a public opinion perspective.
The cascade that ended in "Flash is Dead" may well be the last straw that will make it impossible to recover from, regardless of the actual value of the technology linked to the Brand Name = Flash.
The shortcut would be to say AIR is the future, but Adobe killed it's AIR app store and stopped supporting Development of AIR for Linux. Also too far gone to have credibility.
I suggest adding the Brand Architect to the petition. There is clearly a problem with Brand strategy at Adobe.
My Style Catalog has improved with some tough love and feedback from friends here and off line.
Here are the latest changes:
1. Click through to your mobile browser - from the detail page. 2. Removed Date value in detail page. 3. Changed the loading behavior. 4. Changed the loading indicator behavior. 5. Cleaned up the layout of the detail view.
And I know it's not done, so all comments are still welcome :-)
If you use a MacBook Pro 2011 for web browsing and want the battery to last longer, this may help: Use Safari!
There are 2 graphics options for a Macbook Pro 2011: 1. Integrated Mode (internal graphics capability of the intel i7 processor) 2. Discrete Mode (high performance AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics card)
The Discrete Mode uses more power and will give you less battery life. (See Energy Saver - Automatic Graphics Switching)
So far so good.
I use Safari, Chrome and Firefox, but only one of them will leave the graphics mode in (1) Integrated mode. The other two browsers trigger mode (2) and thus will give you less time to do your light web surfing.
You guessed it, only Safari allows web surfing in mode (1).
Chrome and Firefox switch to mode (2) as you open them.
A note on Flash. Flash does not force Mode (2) anymore. It's last update leaves Safari in mode (1). That is a surprise. Using Safari and Flash 10.3 is more power efficient than using Chrome or Firefox with plain HTML.
Your internet connection type influences battery time too. Cable, Wifi or USB Broadband modem. Keep that in mind.
Stypi makes it easy to collaborate on documents online. Here are three ways for you to get the most out of it:
1. Share Your Documents Make a document available to anyone by sharing its URL. You can also make a document private and only provide access to your collaborators. 2. Stay Organized Use the filetree to create folders, access recently viewed documents, and see what's been shared with you. 3. Never Lose Your Work Play back the history of your document like a movie to see how it evolved or to retrieve a previous version.
You delete your own post to a thread - you still get notifications and email from it You block the person who started the thread - you still get notifications and mail You mute the post - it says it no longer exists - you still get notifications and mail

That fact that Adobe employees have to invoke their Macromedia credentials to find a base to establish trust, is clear evidence of the extent of the damage the Adobe brand has sustained in the recent "iceberg" collision.

Going to group therapy or couples counseling has never repaired contempt. That is what the relationship status is for many loyalists at the present.
So, I get a new phone... Sign in to Facebook with it... all ok.
Then I see a lot of annoying stuff.... log into Facebook, with my computer I formatted on Monday, in oder to to un-friend some jerks...
Now Facebook locked my account because I have not logged in with a device I've used before.
What a wonderful way to make new "friends"
;-)
Since I only logged in twice a year, it's no loss to me.
That's why they have 100,000,000 users - people keep creating new accounts because they are locked out all the time... thats my theory for today, anyway.

"if anything the exploit is bigger news than most other items because this Apache vulnerability has a wicked sting in its tail: It's simple, it's easy to weaponize, and it could shut down about 60% of websites online"
Sitepoint says: "Say goodbye to time-consuming Apache, PHP and MySQL installations and say hello to Adobe Business Catalyst - the elegant, hosted solution that enables web designers like you to build custom web apps without coding." an add obviously.
Never say: "Never!" (I see .aspx in there... oooh). I wonder!
As Coca-Cola Marketing adds "Expressions" to their brand strategy. They share some of the lessons learned so far. JOE TRIPODI (Coca-Cola).
1. Accept that consumers can generate more messages than you ever could. 2. Develop content that is "Liquid and Linked." 3. Accept that you don't own your brands; your consumers do. 4. Build a process that shares successes and failures quickly throughout your company. 5. Be a facilitator who manages communities, not a director who tries to control them. 6. Speak up to set the record straight, but give your fans a chance to do so first.
