Update: Some people reacted to this post by suggesting I'm eager to see Zuckerberg / Facebook go down. You're not reading my posts at all if you think that. As I've started a few times, Mark has always been a gentleman to me, and I admire what he's done, and am looking forward to what he will do. The competition between G+, Twitter and Facebook will make all three companies better. Who wins? Us, the users. Did Facebook even have a "status update" before Twitter? FB grew and became better because of that competition. And as for me, my ownership of MySpace was sold in the initial 2005 sale not in the recent fire sale (see previous post). From my perspective, I'm grateful and feel lucky both for the money I made and the long run MySpace did have (I left in early 2009).

For those of you still using Facebook, have you noticed a recent addition to "Public" status posting? One of my fellow G+er's +Dennis Bullard posted that he can now post status messages from Facebook to G+. (He said it's NOT an extension!)

Dennis noticed this added feature earlier this morning (and he didn't have it last night), I checked, and I don't have this added feature (yet).

It's possible that this is in beta testing right now with Facebook, and may be rolling out in stages. If this is the case, I kind of have to applaud Mark Z., for this - as it's a smart move on his part!

By adding this feature, he's sort of securing his FB future - can you say "MySpace"? It's no secret that FB was one of the main causes of MySpace downfall (or so, that's my understanding).

This is not to say that G+ would cause the downfall of FB, but I think with Mark being on G+, that he can clearly see that G+ will soon give him a run for his money. Once G+ goes public, I think we're going to see some interesting changes around here - good or bad, only time will tell.

I don't know about you guys, but I think this is just wrong! The following was posted by a friend of mine on Facebook (no doubt some of you have seen it, if you have an account there too).

I have a question for you G+ experts out there. Sometimes I see a double post from people, does this mean that they have me in more than one circle - and have selected to post to the circles that I am in?

It doesn't happen all the time, but I do see this at least 1-2 times a day, from various people posting. Just curious. As I would think Google would detect that I am in more than 1 of the person's circle, and only post to my stream once.

Spent the day (literally) doing a mini remodel, as my old faucet leaked off and on (which I lived with for 6+ years, see rag around faucet for leak).

Then the garbage disposal went out when I returned home from vacation, a couple of weeks ago. Finally said screw it - let's just go all new!

So 3 trips to Homo Depot, and about 7 hours invested - as well as almost $600 later (including labor), I have a beautiful new sink/faucet/garbage disposal setup. Almost makes me want to get into cooking more!

Is there a difference between Chat and Hangouts? I haven't done either one, but I have gotten a few Chat notices in the lower left corner - but I am not sure what to do, how how these work?

If it makes a difference, I use my laptop to G+ (only use G+ app, to check notices while away from home.)

The only problem with the +Mention method of private messaging here on G+, there is no true message history showing all of your private +Mentions. I've haven't seen anyone mention this little trick since the first week here on G+. I thought I'd share this helpful tip again.

Private Message Tracker / History

Create a Circle, name it whatever you want. I named mine Private Msgs. Important: Don't add anyone to your newly created Circle. Now, whenever you send a private message to someone, just +Mention them as normal, this time include your Private Messaging Circle as well. Then, when viewing your Stream, select your Private Messaging Circle and you'll see a history of every +Mention private message you've ever sent.

Wow! Google is on a serious removal kick today!

Just logged in, and I get about 7 notices from Google Minus (extension that tells you how many people have removed you), and I go to verify the 7 - and all but 1, are Error 404 pages!

Either Google is out there removing everyone I follow, or it's slooow in here tonight!

Listening to the thunder and rain, will be good sleeping weather tonight - and watching the game (or watching the Bronco's lose rather - hopefully that turns around soon - it's still early...).

I've started posting various articles (like this one) to my Facebook peeps. When I talked to a good friend of mine, and tried to get him to give G+ a try, he was like; "Oh no way! I don't want a bunch of strangers following me!"

According to a few articles I've read this past couple of days, this IS exactly what Facebook has just introduced! It's amazing to me how much Facebook is trying and failing to be like G+.

A little threatened by G+ Markie Z? As I've said before, and I'll say it again; Mark is here on G+ to gain steal ideas from Google/G+. And (IMO) if Google doesn't hurry up and get off the pot/go public with this site, any new users coming to G+ later - will think that Google+ stole the ideas from Facebook.

But to be fair, as I've also said before when someone ask me what G+ is, I tell them it's like Twitter and Facebook had a one night stand, and out came G+. So there are some similarities here in G+ that reminds me of Twitter/Facebook.

The only difference is, Google+ does it better. ;o)

Any of you have a TV 50-70" screen? If so, what do you have? Do you like it? Or do you regret it, and wished you'd gotten something else?

Plasma, LED or LCD - which do you have (and what size - yes, sometimes "size" matters! ^grin^)?

I found this article on the differences, but I'd like "users" actual input - no one knows better, than an actual full time user (rather than a short time tester).

Hate to say it. but I agree with all 3 points made here. While I am losing interest in Facebook, and think G+ is far superior, I get what Craig Kanalley means when he says:

"In fact, so far at least, Google+'s biggest accomplishment is improving Facebook itself." <--- If you read his article and the 3 points he makes, you'll see what I mean.

~ I signed up for Gmail for the first time.
~ I did NOT make it my default account to use with google.
~ I did import my mail from hotmail.
~ My hotmail is now empty! it HARVESTED the mail- not copied it!
~ I have to sign out of G+ now to sign back IN to check my gmail! I don't like this.

How do I CHANGE gmail so it will no longer import from hotmail?

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone!:

star-hash-zero-six-hash

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Not only the above, but also in Australia your stolen phone is added to a "Stolen Mobile Phone" database, so if your phone is found later on it can be returned to you.

Not sure which is worse... Being awakened by an obnoxious alarm clock, or the combination of a barking dog, mixed in with construction (crew and trucks) right outside your window...

Well my Google search page just refreshed itself, and now is advertising G+. But my G+ itself is still the same, no added search within G+ (to search for other than people).

Anyone else get updated to the new G+ (with expanded search within)?

"^Sighs^ Why is it that I cannot login to FB these days, without a new DAMN change in effect, that I have to learn about! I already have Google+, I don't need another one - FB stop copying, and be happy with what you have!

Maybe the cute little puppy and kitten will finally get the attention of my friends/family over here to G+ where they'll get an intelligent experience. ;o)

Things on my list to do...

After I have successfully completed steps 1 & 2 (see diagram below), I will then need to start on steps 3 and 4, which is to decide where to buy the Samsung D8000, and then buy it.

But here's my dilemma...

Best Buy has it for $3,300/plus tax, and Amazon has it for $2,580/no tax. While the price difference is about 1K less on Amazon, I would not be able to get a warranty on it, or have them haul away the existing (POS) TV.

Have any of you guys ordered a large ticket item from Amazon? Also, would you pay more for the secured piece of mind/aka Best Buy, or would you save $ and risk buying something this expensive (and big in size) online/ aka Amazon?

P.S. Seller is not Amazon directly, it's a company called MODIA. They have a 97% positive ratings past 30-days, and 98% past 90-days.

Just logged in, and see that +Gary Horder is sharing with me, the thing is - I NEVER removed him!

Anyone else experiencing people randomly being removed from your circles? Needless to say, I'll be re-adding him to my circles - but this just seemed odd to me.

For those of you whom have been following my POS TV dilemma, and who have offered advice, support and a tissue, for my tears etc., thank you too! =o)

As of today, I have finally bought a new Samsung 59" TV (59D8000), which will be here Saturday. The best part is that I saved $1,100 (off of MSRP) on it! Woo-Hoo!

Due to Best Buy price matching, I got this TV for $800 less than their own current sale price on this TV - as they price matched Paul's TV/Amazon offerings.

Normally, BB doesn't price match Amazon - but because I have a Paul's TV store here in CO., they price matched Paul's TV price on Amazon.

Point? It PAYS to shop and take laptop in to BB for proof compare, before you buy!

1) The fact that Susanne Eman wants to weight 1,800 pounds (yes, you read that correctly!) in order to get into the Guinness Book of World Records...

Susanne currently weighs about 730 pounds and is trying to get to 1,800 - which would beat out both the recorded/documented heaviest man/woman. Susanne wants to be the heaviest person in the world.

For those of you following my little TV story; upon finding a drop in price on Amazon a little bit ago - I had to cancel my Best Buy delivery that was scheduled for today. So now instead of getting it from BB, I'll be getting it from Amazon on Thursday - NO taxes, plus marked down again by Paul's TV by another $40!

Oddly enough, the TV will come from Paul's (which is the company BB price matched for me), but because it's not being "fulfilled" by Paul's TV, and is being fulfilled by Amazon, I am saving almost $200 in not having to pay taxes (which of course BB charges).

Fingers crossed, that I made the right decision to cancel BB, and go with Amazon

Morning G+er's

Well, I for one am glad to see this: You will no longer receive game notifications in your Google+ bar.

Someone posted yesterday that they were getting game notifications within their notices (which of course I was dreading being victimized by this happening to me too).

Sure enough, I had my first game request this morning (not too bad considering I used to be plagued with 100's of them, on FB - sometimes I still get a few).

So either they didn't see the option to disable game request, or Google just added this choice option since yesterday, to disable game request.

At any rate... ^5's Google - Thx for not being like Facebook!

At the moment I am enjoying my morning cup of motivation and energy coffee, while reading through all the missed postings on my stream. One that has captured my attention, is a article about ICS posted by +Art Russ (thank you Art!).

What ICS features are you looking forward to (or hoping for)?

Of all the features stated (and speculated) to come to ICS, I am most looking forward to BlindType, acquired by Google back in Oct 2010. Unfortunately it's not a confirmed feature, only speculated at this time.

But why only speculated? Google bought BlindType almost a year ago, and we haven't heard anything about it since. Having seen a couple of demo videos on this (awesome) keyboard, one would have thought this would have been rolled out by Google long before now (can you say Gingerbread?).

Another feature that would be cool (and fun), is Android@Home, and of course having the beauty of Honeycomb on my phone - hello Nexus Prime!

So what say you, which features are you most looking forward to (or hoping that ICS comes with)?

As of yesterday afternoon, I went over my 5GB limit of data - now throttled down to speeds slower than a snail - it's going to be a LONG week online, to say the least!

My data speeds won't be restored until my next billing cycle (next Sunday). Tapping into my local public WiFi - which sadly, isn't much faster! ^smh^

Oh, and before anyone chimes in and says; "Sprint" - unfortunately I don't get a good signal with them in my home. Still LOVE T-Mobile, but damn I wish they'd lift the throttle BS!

Well needless to say, I am still crawling along at snail like data speeds, it's a VERY painful experience, to say the least! Sunday cannot come soon enough, when my data resets itself back to normal - unfortunately, patience isn't one of my strong suits!

On the bright side, I have woken up to more than 100 new people whom have added me to their circles! Yikes! Slowly but surely, I will get to you in order to add you back, but it literally takes forever to load a page right now - so please be patient, thx! =o)

Hello, my name is Lisa - and I am a Google+ addict.

Yep, I think I may be addicted to G+ - as I find myself on a wee bit later each night. I went from getting off line around 11 PM at night, to now being on here for as late as 1-2 AM!

With all the newly added folks, there's never a dull moment around here - and while this IS a good thing for "Google", it's not so good for my sleep patterns. ;o)

Calling on my T-Mobile/AT&T Android techies

I haven't received any OTA's since 2.3.2 - I manually installed 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 (which is what I am currently on). My questions are as follows:

1) Do I need to update to 2.3.5 - before I add this latest upgrade?

2) I read that if your tethering already works, that you should NOT upgrade to 2.3.6, as it will then mess up your tethering feature. Can anyone confirm this?

*Kind of odd that one of the fixes on 2.3.6 is to "fix" tethering (for those having issues), but if you don't have any issues prior to this - that it will then break it.

Google made a subtle change? If so, it's one I don't like...

Is it just me, or did Google make another change to G+, when it comes to posting? I've noticed this last couple of days, that whenever I post that it doesn't go to my main stream anymore.

In order to see my posting, I have to click on my profile - as it no longer shows up in the stream. I know others can see my posting, but I can no longer see my own postings, unless I view my profile page - odd.

Anyone else notice this - or is it just me?

I still think that One Million Mom's Needs to get laid!

As of this past Monday, all King Sooper's/aka Kroger stores received a memo to pull the controversial and funny named ice-cream from its shelves. It's only a matter of time, before Safeway/Vons and Albertsons follow suit - if they haven't already.

According to my King Sooper's manager, they had to pull them, and are supposed to send them back. Supposedly, the flavor of Schweddy Balls will be back in their stores, as soon as they are re-named. ^rolls eyes^ & ^smh^...

Anyway - this is not the first time One Million Mom's has gotten their panties in a wad over Ben & Jerry's ice-cream, as they also protested against the September 2009 launch of Hubby Hubby, which was temporarily renamed from Chubby Hubby in support of equal rights gay marriage in Vermont. Seriously?!

I couldn't have said it better than Lauren Shockey;

"Of all the world's problems, you'd think moms would focus their energies on, oh, improving literacy rates or fixing kids' school lunches, but no. As some of you know, I was just asking the other day about getting a laptop or a tablet - the laptop won out, for my needs. Here's one I have in my cart, that I am considering getting.

Is this a good deal, based on its it's specs?

Does anyone else have this computer, if so what do you think of it?

If not this, can you suggest one with similar specs - within this price range?

Umm yeah, plz don't do this!

Not only does it spam the person's Notifications/the red box, it makes you look like an attention whore, and a bit arrogant! Just saying...

If you're already posting publicly or to extended circles, then we'll all see your post on our streams anyway, we don't need to be notified of your post too!

Hopefully Google will fix this, and disable the other sharing options - if you're selecting Public or Extended Circles, then other circles would not be needed.

This especially needs to be fixed, before the businesses are allowed in! What a nightmare this will be! Yikes!

Has the Internet replaced your Sunday (or daily) paper?

After getting the Sunday only paper for the past 20+ years, I am finally telling The Denver Post where they can stick their paper (so to speak)! I only get the paper for the TV guide, and for the coupons - which is $79 per/year for Sun/only.

About a month ago, we all get a notice that the paper would no longer be publishing the TV Weekly Guide, but that if we wanted to - we could get a discount on the new TV Weekly Magazine - for an additional $39 per/year, total for both = $118.

Since I pretty much get my news from G+ the Internet and from the news on TV, and since coupons are a dime a dozen here on the Internet - as well as various sites that have TV listings - why would anyone need a paper anymore except to potty train a puppy?

I'll be curious how many other people drop their papers? While I can get TV listings on the Internet (for FREE), it was still nice to have an actual physical paper/TV guide.

This of course is nothing new prices go up, and you get less, it's still a disappointment when you see this happen with a product...
